Don't know how many of you are paying attention to the mystery (yes, mystery) illness hitting children in NY, LA, MI, IL, and Louisiana, but if it is connected to corona than it opens up a whole new situation. It resembles Kawasaki disease, but isn't. And it's hitting corona hotspots. Pretty scary.

Kawasaki?

If so, been around for 40 years and thousands get it each year. It is sort of an after effect of having a major virus from what I read.

Have they actually confirmed it is not Kawasaki?

Most things I read said they were pretty sure it was.  Will check again this evening and read more

Welp, I’m getting furloughed today. It’s probably 50-50 on whether I’ll get to come back in August.

President and CFO project this will continue through the fall and into next spring.

Sorry to hear it, man. The longer this goes the more people that are going to end up in this boat. I was furloughed over a month ago. If you haven't applied for unemployment stop whatever you're doing right now and do that right now. The systems are swamped. It might not be a quick process. We're fortunate that my wife hasn't been furloughed... yet. But her workplace has been talking furloughs and layoffs since the beginning of this, so honestly it won't be the least bit surprising if it happens.

It is eventually going to get a lot worse if something doesn't give soon.  I may make it until the end of this month but after that who knows?

Sorry, you'll probably need to be laid off/starve so the Karen's of the world can claim "victory" in their great "war" against the curve... Is it insane to think that in a free country people should be able to assess the risks of the virus to them and then choose how much they want to expose themselves/their family/ect.  via their previously normal day to day activities?  Isn't it a bit heavy-handed that government gets to choose who gets laid off and who is "essential"?  And for the idiots who are going to come in with cool examples of government intervention in the name of public safety like the "seatbelt", please give me examples of where a mandatory seatbelt cost someone their livelihood.

Even if everyone is allowed to go out and do anything they want, a significant number of people will be too scared to do anything.

That fear is going to suppress the economy for a while. I really don’t think we will start to see the end of this thing until next year at this time.

The good news is there seems to be a floor to this. Only so many people will stay home indefinitely.

I expect 30%+ unemployment by The fall.

If I’m brought back to work, I’ve been told it will most likely be at reduced pay. They expect revenue to be down 30% over the next 12 months so they want to try to structure compensation accordingly.

I'm expecting salary dumps in every sector.  I'm a prime candidate, senior exec 3 years from retirement eligibility with a salary in the range you would expect for my experience level.  Easier to replace for half the cost.

Hate to hear that. I have some friends in similar situations.

If you can say, what industry are you in?

Well get to learin' some programming.  Former Carolinian, current Coloradoan, Panther fan...

No desire. My two least favorite school subjects were foreign language and math. Programming is like a combination of both. I'd be miserable.

Much thanks on helping hand, but it would just be an awful fit.

    • For the silly people that worship her it will be that.  The Coleman 'legend' thing, they did that with another fairly average player that was here and I sort of mocked or questioned the 'legend' status. Instantly caught crap for insulting someone's favorite Panther. So okay, Kurt Coleman is a Legend.
    • You allow him to compete--you all are talking as if I am proposing making him the starter. Give him a new coach, new weapons, good OL, etc. and see what happens. You are saying, "Well Damn.  It did not work for 3 guys..."  Right now, our C is injured, we lost our top 2 WRs.  Better question:  If you need a QB, Why would you not take a chance on bringing in a QB who was a former first rounder, a good arm, intelligence, mobility, youth, etc.  and see how he does out of NY--with a better OL, better running game, better receivers.  I am not saying give him a 10-year contract, I am saying give him a chance. You act like there is no improvement on offense here--it was a 2 year process, and next year is year 2.  To me, how can you sit there with Bryce and an opportunity to sign a veteran QB on the cheap comes available and you say--"Not us. We're good.  We are waiting for Patrick Mahommes."  Jone's problem is obviously mental--and he has little support.  Why is this so frigging hard to comprehend.  It is called "bottom fishing" and it is better than sitting in the boat.
    • I think we're going to fall from behind quite early and be forced to abandon the run game.  3 rushes -2 yards 1 catch -10 yards
