LOL! Good for him, I hope he gets it. Honestly, he was a guy I was hoping to hang onto, but I was thinking more along the lines of a versatile backup and/or last resort option as a starter. $8-10M per for that guy? LOLOLOL!!!

Signing big money free agents off of a 6-10 team seems like a really bad plan of action, but that's just my opinion.

Apparently the Jets have about $56 million in projected cap space.  That's a good chunk, but handing out contracts like that will eat it up in no time!

I had been saying throughout the season that people on here were seriously underrating Van Roten...and it’s no surprise that those Huddlers who put him down during the season are now in “LOLOL WTF” mode instead of actually having the humility and self-awareness to reconsider that maybe their amateur o-line talent evaluation isn’t as superb as they think it is.

I definitely wouldn’t advocate we be the ones to pay $8-10 million for him but it doesn’t surprise me that he’s reportedly getting a pretty hefty payday.

Also, considering that we went from one solid UFA LG immediately to another solid UFA LG...I hope those people freaking out about trading Trai Turner or that we didn’t draft an OG in last year’s draft realize that it isn’t all that difficult to get good OG play. People seem to be caught up in the trauma of Amini, without remembering that we’ve actually had success with players like Chris Scott, Geoff Hangartner, Darryl Williams, etc. at OG. There’s a reason why struggling OTs often get moved to OG with more success. Or that prospective OTs start off with a developmental year at OG...it’s an easier position to fill.

I would tell them no way do we want to further weaken our OL.  Instead keep GVR, draft more help, protect QB and rule NFC south for the next 10 years like we are supposed to.

There are two types of people. A.) People who hear that the Jets want to overpay a free agent and think "Wow, they're spotting a hidden value on our roster that we need to lock down with a counteroffer NOW!" and B.) People who think the first group of people are morons.
