There wasn't really much reason not to. No huge risk in seeing what Brady et al can do with him.

I wouldn't go in with real high expectations at this point though.

did they suddenly morph into NFL QBs ?

i swear to god if they don’t update the backups, I’m done as between this and Hurney, it is exhibit A supporting Einstein’s definition of insanity

Good decision.   He is hands down better than Grier.

Good, it'd be a shame to lose him. I think he still has a lot of potential that hasn't been tapped, just need a good coach to develop him. 

I'm in no way saying he should get the nod over Cam, but I think he has the ability to be a good journeyman QB and a really solid backup with a bit more seasoning and coaching.

Allen is leaps and bounds better than Grier. And idgaf if you were to put Joe Montana, in his prime, behind that dumpster fire of a line. No one had a shot at even looking serviceable.

Predictably the usual types will rejoice over this.

I don't really have an issue with it since it's only a one year deal, but I do think we've seen all we need to in order to make a conclusion about his viability as a starter.
