Edit: Kyle Allen extended for 1 year

Grier is in play due to draft investment, I think Kyle is out, and we look at another Day 3 prospect to fill out the room. For all the talk of Allen's skill set being a fit, Grier's is suited to Brady's offense as well, accurate with good touch on the deep passes.

For all three QB's a lot of the success is tied to adequate protection, of which Cam has shown he can perform with a shoddy OL & no receivers, see 2017.

He looked better than Grier, and we're screwed if Cam isn't the starter either way, so, I mean, yeah, I would rather have him as the backup than Grier.

What if Rhule thinks they can make something out of Grier?

Remember they are starting a "partnership" (whatever that means) with a noted quarterback guy.

Yes you bring him back.  Hes cheap and a better backup than Grier at this point.  A backup is just suposed to get a couple wins if the starter goes down for a few games.  He shown he can do that, he just cant sustain it through an entire season.

I think the point is to find someone who can.  Right now we don't have anyone who can do that.

I'm not holding my breath.

Me neither... but Rhule might be.

The reality is that Matt Rhule is a pretty big wild card right now. We don't really know that much about him so predicting what he's likely to do is largely guesswork.
