Mario Addison reportedly will hit free agency despite Panthers attempting to re sign

Before Rivera was fired I told y’all to be careful what you wish for.  Honestly, I don’t blame any player for not wanted to be around for the train wreck that will be several seasons. I honestly wonder why Cam isn’t begging to be traded or released.  It’s gonna be a $hit show for a while.

Exactly. I predict the Bills will sign him to a multi-year deal.

I've never understood players who sign just a few weeks before free agency, why would you not wait and see what other teams say.

Any deal that is on the table now will pretty much be there then.

And he was a situational guy, not like an every-down DE, still putting up those numbers. He's been the best DE on the team since CJ was at his best.

Exactly. Who’s happy with the direction of this team the past two years? Oh no, Mario wants to test FA. Oh no, we’re going to be really bad this year. Who gives a fug. We finished the last two years 1-15 and the 1 win was with Brees sitting in a meaningless game. We already sucked and we just lost Greg and Luke. We were circling the drain. Just flush and get to rebuilding.

I am happy to see the overhaul, frankly.  I felt that our window closed in 2017.  Nothing to do with Cam, but the Gettlemen/Beane/McDermott departures were more distracting than we realized at the time.  The Turners come in and change the offense.  Cam gets hurt (can't throw the deep ball) and RR stays with him. Then we get the new owner in 2018 that flinches instead of firing RR.  Cam has his second surgery in as many years.  and then in 2019 the defensive philosophy changed.  Cam has his third surgery in as many years.  In 2020, we have a new coaching staff--from the college ranks.  Luke retires, Olsen refuses to take a pay cut and is released, and we trade our 5-time pro bowl OL.   Cam is healing for the third straight year instead of growing.  His body has taken more of a pounding than any other QB in the NFL.  There is no mention of an extension--there is talk of trade.

What part of that says, "Let's stay with the players we have?"  

So we can want to keep 33-year old DEs, oft-injured QBs, Lazy DTs, Gimpy TEs and Concussed LBs, but the reality is, we are not addressing the new era with only a coaching makeover.  Rhule wins by finding overachieving players who will run through walls for him.  These vets that went soft like KK, Turner,  Poe, etc. are not going to be part of that. Rhule needs his players to do the Rhule thing.   Consider the roster fluid.

I would like to see him stay here but he will soon be 33 years old,there is no way we break the bank to sign him.

We don't even have Burns if we move back to the 4-3. Like I said before our chances of signing Addison are slim. Most veteran defensive players were upset how Tepper did Rivera. They won't be returning.

I would have rather just traded Turner for a pick and I’d be fine trading Cam. I don’t want a $13M one year LT. I want as many picks in the next two drafts as I can get. I want to see Will Grier in all his glory and then whatever PS QB we have after Will is a pool of jelly while we figure out who can play guard.
