The Panthers need to do what ever it takes to draft Denzel Mims

I want Mims as our second rounder but i'm starting to think he is going to go much higher than expected.

He would pair so nicely with Moore and Samuel that I think it would be worth doing what it takes to get him even if it means trading back into the first round or trading back to gain some extra picks to flip into another first. I'm sure Matt Rhule wants him on this team just as much as I do

Please don’t ever give Hurney the option of “whatever it takes”.  That outcome will not be in our favor.

Ain’t that the truth. No player is worth whatever it takes. Especially when you start trading future first/second round draft picks to get them.

I dont expect him to go before our 2nd pick.  This WR class is just insane.

But id absolutely love to grab this kid.

A WR is going to be Olsen's replacement, people keep ignoring.

Joe Bradys offense is going to be 3WR 1 TE sets.  Not 2 and 2 what Rivera ran.

We have Moore and Samuel (injured prone and going into last year on deal) and thats IT at WR.

Im not on board drafting a WR rd 1.  But rd 2 and on im fine.  We just need talent Period.  You dont pass on a DJ level talent at WR in the 2nd just because we have other holes.

If we go defense in the first, which it really looks like we are, I still want to get some more line help in the second or one of the top linebackers.  I think the wr class is so deep we can afford to wait.

Having said that, Mims looks like the real deal and I wouldnt hate the pick if he was there in the 2nd.  But damn at some point we have to fix our oline

Id love to fix the OL as well.  But we need help point blank.

Im not taking a OL with a lower grade who is just a guy who has potential to become a starter. Over a WR who has a High grade who will be a day impact guy with potential to be a star.

for sure

But truth be told we need more bodies on the line then we need wr and I think the 2nd round is full of interior lineman and centers.

But again those highlights of mims from the senior bowl has me drooling

So many places with holes on the team, just not sure we're spending early draft capital on any receivers. Maybe a TE, but I don't see more receivers right now.

The advantage of this being such a strong class for receivers and QBs is that it may clear up some excellent prospects in other positions to fall to us late in second day.

Again people keep ignoring

We're going to be running 3 WR 1 TE NOT the 2 TE 2 WR sets Rivera ran

So ill repeat we'll run

1 TE: Ian Thomas AND Manhurtz under contract

3 WR: Moore, Samuel, and.........?

WR is actually the bigger need.  People just assume just because Olsen left that we need a TE.

This is a huge wrong answer when we need to fix major holes with DL and OL(top need) and get the best available WR later in the draft. We need to get protection for the QB first thing over anything else.

We do not need offensive help NEARLY the same way we need defensive help.  We had 12 players start 9 or more games in 2019.  Of those 12 players, only three are guaranteed to return.  We are at risk of losing 75% of our defensive starters!

Now listen, our defense was historically bad.  Just awful.  It probably needs heavy turnover.  But the only way to support that is by investing incredibly heavily in drafting for that.  Drafting a WR when we already have two is a luxury we just can't afford.

Why not leave the QB wide open to get sacked with no highly needed protection. I Gotcha!

We don’t have to pull a Greg Little on this one. He’ll be there in the second for us to grab

I hope you’re right because he would be a huge addition to our offense.

With that much turnover, fixing the defense will not happen overnight. If Cam comes back healthy, this offense only needs a few pieces to have huge potential.

With that said, I picked 5 defensive players in my mock draft. Only offensive players I drafted were Denzel Mims and a OG/C. Even with a defensive draft that side of the ball needs a lot of work.
