Jordan Scarlett

This is a name I will be keeping an eye on this year since he wasn’t able to be fully evaluated last year. Reggie Bonnafan got a lot more touches and then signing Mike Davis basically ruled out his chance of seeing any playing time. 4 rushes for 9 yards. That is all this young man accomplished last year. Yes he was injured and missed time. Yes we had probably the best RB in the league last year. I really hope that he wasn’t yet another wasted pick. I know we can’t expect much from a day 3 pick but at the volume we use Cmac I feel we should have a reliable back up if worse came to worst. There’s a good amount of talent coming out this year in the draft. Would you be upset if we drafted a late day 2 RB or early day 3 or would a signing of a vet be more beneficial to our stud in the back field? Or do you guys think the franchise will continue to see what Scarlett has to offer?

Think this is a new era that will properly evaluate talent versus veteran status!! Was excited About hiring Rivera cuz he was outstanding with Chicago as a player!! He was hard nose!! He did good then just floundered!! So I am happy to start this new journey!!

Man I hope. If we are going to keep cmc around then we will have to pay him a shitload. If we are going to do that, we need to watch his workload. Bonnafon showed flashes for sure. Wasn’t it Scarlett getting the praise for both blocking and pass catching last year in camp? I’d really like to see what he has and also see if he can be our answer in short yardage situations. We lost an alarming amount of games last year because we couldn’t score from inside the opponents 5 yard line.

Rhule likes 3wr and 1 te sets .  I could see Moore , Samuel , Thomas  with CMC in the slot .  Then put in 1 of our RB behind the QB that could also catch . Plenty of options for Cam to make a play and would spread the defense .

See, that's kinda how I see it too.  We have a lot of Huddlers who insist we burn draft picks on WR's . . . that's just nuts to me.  We've got plenty of skill position players on offense.  Yes, we need depth.  But seriously . . .

We need to address our lines through this draft.  We need at least one ILB, either as depth in a 4-3 or to start beside Shaq in a 3-4.  We have only ONE CB currently signed for 2020 who started 9 or more games last year, and that is a guy who needs to really turn it around.

I like the idea of seeing what Scarlett and Bonnafon can do with CMC sliding out to the slot as pre-snap motion from a 2 back set.  With Bonnafon, I think you can even keep the defense guessing by sliding Bonnafon instead of CMC.  So many options on offense.

He should be judged in the same manner and using the same methods in which Cameron Artis-Payne was judged.

Regular season production.

So lets check his out... for the 2019 season, Scarlett produced 9 total yards on 4 total carries for an average of 2.35 ypc.  He also added no receptions/no receiving yards and no kick/punt returns or yards.

Ergo, utilizing the well known and often used CAP Formula, the results are in...

Jordan Scarlett sucks.

Don't forget with Reggie you can throw the pass as well since he played some QB in college, which included him beating Notre Dame. You could have packages where you come out with all 3 on the field, and slide CMC and/or Bonnafon around and just drive defenses absolutely bonkers.

If on a losing team, with injuries literally throughout the organization, with a coach fighting for his job, then interim coaches looking for any spark to create a boost to their resume, a rotating door at punt and kick returners and a crap-ton of guys just phoning it in after week 11 ---

If you still can't get the attention of even one junior level coach to send you into an even more meaningless game to field a punt or something...

Maybe you aren't NFL material.

I mean those are all opportunities individually to have a break through or just beg for an opportunity. And we had ALL of those things and more.

If Jordan gets a camp invite to come back, he'd better work his butt off for a chance.

At *any other position* I would agree with you.  At RB, on this team, in that system, with CMC in the midst of an all time season, I'm just not sure the opportunities were really there.
