I view Simmons as a more athletic version of Shaq - and I really like Shaq.  Drafting him would get me really excited about our LB's again.. That being said even Luke looked mediocre last year because the D line could not block for him.

IMO - We need to fix the line in FA or the draft before we consider a LB.

Even with bad DT play.. Luke was clearly not the same player...

Odd that the Panthers and Chargers have been talking--wonder what about?

WHAT IF:  The Chargers want Cam and Cam wants Turner at RG and a solid OL.  Tepper has been flaunting the idea of dismantling the OL since "committing" to Cam.    The Chargers will then take a LT in the draft.  Cam goes to LAC once he is proven to be healthy.

Now LAC has the star power in LA, a solid OL to protect him (one geared toward the run) and the Panthers have $19m in cap room and the ability to create $13m more by 2021 or sooner.

So now the Panthers have eliminated one team looking for a QB in front of them-taking a T--a position we will (now) not  be drafting in the first round.  If there are five teams picking ahead of the Panthers and 4 QBs that could go that early...

Tua will not be able to play in 2020, and not many GMs want to lose for a season before they see  results. So it is possible that Tua falls.  If he does not, Herbert could.  What could Brady do with Herbert?

And Simmons--not Young--is the best football player in this draft.  They could want him badly.  Imagine a player who not only stays on the field for 3 downs, but he can play ILB, OLB, S, and nickel.  Who does that?  If you draft a LB and keep him on the field in nickel packages, it is like getting 2 players-1 roster spot.

I am done.

Lol yeah I’m sure Cam has set a precedence in his trade clause that he refuses to go to any team unless they have Trai Turner

Interesting you think Simmons is the best prospect in the draft. The rest was too hard to fathom but I applaud the effort in trying to find sense in this.

Why on earth would we use the 7th overall pick on Herbert of all quarterback prospects with all our needs, like um, hello, defense?

You can't fathom Newton starting in 2020, but it was a great idea to extend Kyle Allen after a handful of starts, and on top of that you think Herbert could be the solution behind this rebuilding OL? L-O-L.

Simmons is certainly an intriguing prospect, but we kind of need some semblance of a real NFL secondary in the NFCS.

Unfortunately I think that comes next year. Building the offense seems top priority this year. Not to mention we will have tons of cash next year with Keek and Kalil off the books.

I really like Brown and he's a huge need but a linebacker that runs a 4.39 opens a ton of options

Come back in Round 3 and draft Willie Gay. Ran a 4.45 and was Daniel Jeremiah's top draft mover

Simmons worries me with his tackling and shedding blockers, still one thing Snow said said he wanted was position-less players and simmons is 100% that.

Ive played this game before with Peppers, image a defense of cloned Simmonsssssess. You'd have everything covered, except maybe run defense.

That said Herniay needed to be fired like yesterday, should have never got the chance to come back. Now hes made Tepper think hes one of the best talent evaluators. Thats Tepper rich since he re-took over the team, theyve become de-void of talent.
