I frankly don't care how it ends up, I am glad the Panthers FINALLY treated LT like it was an important position and didn't ignore it. When your best LT in 7 years has been Matt Kalil since Gross, there is not much it takes to do better.

Trai is a great young player, but LG means nothing if you cannot block the blind side end.

There are no LTs in FA that are not either VERY old or have sucked their whole career. My question to those who don't like it, you wanna just click repeat on the last 5 years? People beg for change and get mad when they get it.

Michael oher was light years better than Mack Kalil but injuries really messed that up for us.

Remember when Paradis was our answer at C? Stop crowning players as the answer when there are some pretty big question marks around them that are being avoided to make them better than they are. The very fact these moves are being made by a known GM that is bad at understanding value and roster building is enough to have more salt than meat. We still do not have a healthy or good LT on the roster. We have a backup and two large question marks and a gaping hole at RG , my hope is Daley there, with little to show other than a question mark with his arrow pointed down.

Cleans up the cap for next year and gives us a solid vet LT to start and groom our young guys. Looks great to me.

There is no next year, well barring some CBA hold out disaster. No chance the new CBA will get rid of rollover because that created these huge caps that create big contracts. Anyway, this move saves us $7.4M of total cap. We lose some cap this year and that will basically remove some rollover from this year ($3Mish) that would have happened with Trai instead. Now if we sign a FA to replace Turner that FA plus Okung could end up losing us more space than Turner/Little or Turner/rookie. Gaining $20.5M from Turner gone got reduced a lot by taking on the $13.1M if Okung. Cap wise, we’ll see, but just wanted to point out that the cap is a bit more fluid and isn’t just a one year thing anymore. Our cap will be about $7.5M better in 2021 minus whatever gap player fills in for Turner.

I hope Okung is healthy because between Paradis and Williams we wasted $15M on damaged goods last year.

While we may have filled LT for a year, we’ve got a truck sized hole in the middle now with only a really bad 2019 C in place.

The fact we didn't get draft capital is suspect in itself. Tre was no world beater but he was more than a warm body his old coach knew.

This screams the old dark days of Panthers football where the cheerleaders proclaim victory in the offseason and then it all falls apart during the season.

How does the LAC fan base feel about the trade? Anybody been following that?

Just because they may like the move because they read how Turner is a perennial pro bowler (even though we know he's been poor last two years), doesn't mean it's a bad trade for us if we have personnel or draft options to address the guard position and get rid of a contract that doesn't work for us anymore.

Kinda like drafting Jimmy Clausen showed that we were placing importance on the quarterback position.

I absolutely care how it ends up. I'm not going to just be happy that the team did something if the something that they did turns out to be the wrong thing.

If this is to give our new LT out of college a chance to learn next year beside a vet...I am all for it.  If it is to let Little learn from it I say you are wasting your money.  Move Little to RG and be done with it.  His experiment as LT should be over.  This way we can give Daley one more year to learn the Left side and then fill in with him at LG and whoever the LT out of college is.  It could be the start of an great OLine.  Get a good Center in the 2nd or 3rd round we might just have something.

Since when do 2nd round picks have to show as rookies they can play LT or not get hurt?

Marty Hurney traded up for him, you can probably give up on drafting a LT.

Hurney openly admitted he had a first round grade on Little and would have taken him if Burns hadn't been there. He tried to trade back into the 1st to get him with no buyers. 1st rounders are expected to be able to start immediately.

That said, I don't consider Little a bust, I consider the how our 2nd and 3rd picks were used a bust.

Sorry Little was not that good.....we had a better LT on the board at 1 when we picked and they once again had to go Defense and picked Burns.  The he thought he would be gone by the time to pick our 2nd pick and so he traded with Seattle our 2nd pick and our first 3rd pick we had.  We waited 67 picks before we drafted a QB at 100.  So instead of having 4 picks in the top 100.  We had 3 and with the 2nd round pick the took DK Metcalf which would have been ours.

Our fanbase, in this forum, is horrible. Mostly everyone here is better than every GM and every Coach in Carolina Panthers History. Mostly everyone here is an assassin behind the keyboard and a destroyer of character by never letting go of past mistakes, giving readers the feel that our staff is incompetent because they have hindsight in their favor. "Another Hurney mistake" is the going fade here now. Show me a GM of any team that haven't made mistakes. People here are constantly draining our fanbase with NEGATIVITY at every turn. Positivity is minimal here and the one's that displays it, are attacked by the negative keyboard assassins, keeping it negative. It's sad that so many people here are sucking the life out of what's supposed to be a positive forum to discuss and learn about our favorite NFL Team...

Exactly...it is hilarious watching most in here (who can barely spell BFL) think they are smarter than every coach and GM.

the Huddle has turned into the equivalent of a bad sitcom.

Little was a bust.  2 concussions and sprained ankles.  Couldn't handle speed rushers and as far as blocking the left side sucked last year.  Other than the B+ grade Burns got last year I don't many of our draft picks had good years.  The 2 games Grier started were not stellar.

The huddle has been a bad sitcom for almost a decade now.
