Roster turnover during regime change

Not much different. We have a returning QB, RB, WR, lost Olsen but the TE position is the same, OL I'm expecting some shifting but at least 2-3 starters will remain I expect. Defensively, DL is our big turnover spot and CB will likely look different if we don't get JB back and safety has been a revolving door for a while. A lot of the core of the team is returning though, particularly offensively. And remember, we still have FA and draft to go. The roster will fill out better than you expect. Or at least I'm hoping that's the case.

Qb is a question mark.. The RB might be high on the wear and tear list and WR maybe okay..

Ppl want to tear down the Oline..

And right now the defense is a total rebuild..

1 proven Dline starter coming off of IR..

1 proven LB starter

And 1 proven safety.. Is all we got at this point.

We don't have alot of FA money. . And Hurney is running the draft.

Omg this doesn't look like a 2 year turnaround.. This looks like a 5 to 6 year Browns, Bucs, Jets, Raiders Hopefully getting back to relevance status...

I'm just talking in terms of the team previous and how many players you have returning from one roster to the next. Sure, we have some glaring needs but our depth guys at LB are generally young, RB we have a lot of guys who are going to remain and CMC I wouldn't call high on wear and tear until he shows as much. QB quality may be a question, but we're definitely getting Grier back, probably Allen and most likely Cam barring something definite saying different. WR at 1,2 sees DJ and Samuel return. Idk. You're right defensively, we have a couple gaps but all it takes is a couple solid, day one starter draft picks and a couple free agent signings and we're set tbh. I'd say it's comparable to the other regime changes in the organizations history. Can't forget, the 01 draft dramatically improved that roster (Morgan, Jenkins, Smitty, Weinke, Cooper).

I'm banking on somewhere between 6-10 and 9-7. That to me is a fair expectation given what we know about the roster right now and the fact that we have a completely new staff and new systems. We'll probably upset a team as well and this place will lose it's mind expecting us to be playoff bound. We're a couple years out of playoff contention barring Cam coming back and willing us to 11-5 minimum.

We are going to be the Browns of the South.

Basically you have to wait and see what vision Rhule has and how he wants this team to look. I don’t know what he wants but I’m assuming everyone is expendable with the exceptions of CMC, Burns and Shaq only because of the extension.

I agree with this.  WAIT AND SEE.  But right It doesn't look great and I can't figure out the logic... But I don't get paid to be a football analyst so waiting and seeing is all I can do..

So 2001

Fox kept the Defense intact which had Jenkins,  Rucker, and Buck on it.  Dan Morgan and Witherspoon were still our LB'S and you had Minter at safety.. THe offense still had Smitty and Muhammad and the Oline was mostly intact..

2010..

You still had Beason, TD, James Anderson CJ, but you had to redo the defense for the most part.. But the offense was pretty intact...Gross, Kali, Wharton and Piggy oline.. Smitty, Dwill, Stew, and Lafell

Yeah this looks different...  The way this is going so far it's looking like a expansion team...

They’ll perform like one too, I’d bet.  It’s gonna be a rough few years.

We don't know their vision nor what they see in the future. I'm expecting right now a Dolphins type turnover. We will suck for quiet a few years, probably till the new stadium is built then boom Super Bowl.

If we are a bad team until a new stadium is built, we will have gone through at least a couple of head coaches and likely the bulk of the fanbase. That's not usually the extended length of being bad that most franchises come back from. Frankly, it would put us in bottom 10 All-Time franchise territory(currently 19th in NFL history in winning percentage). In that bottom ten group, only three Super Bowl victories.

It's quite possible that's where we are headed under Hurney. There has been no effort made to change the FO from what it was 10 years ago.
