I believe, Rhule is looking to put in place his kind of leaders on the team.

Anybody whom isn't on 100% on board is being offered the chance the be shopped around.

Doesn't guarantee anything, but it is the right thing to do if they aren't a part of the plan/process moving forward.

This is cool and all.. But as a fan this is seriously looking like a 4 to 5 year rebuild.. And I haven't seen where that works..

that is a lot of dead money, but also alot of actual cap savings...

we actually need them both to play to their contracts

but if they are not all in....then move on

It is on both. We restructured him so that adds to the dead cap. Wondering if there was someone that Hurney didn’t restructure. Turner, Kuechly and Short app got restructured and we kind of bit that one in the ass on all three.

The problem is that I’m 2018 and 2019, they clearly didn’t play up to the money we spent and I’d be pretty shocked if they turn it around. Turner is young enough to do so but now is pretty much when you’d be getting rid of Short if we hadn’t restructured. That said, in a rebuild, we’d be much better off saving $50M for CMC and Moore and Moton and getting some rookies to develop.

As I have been saying for a while now, take our licks this year, so we can start from scratch next season.

You high paid vets need to be calling your real estate professional.

This looks like we're going to be taking licks for atleast 3 years maybe more..

I'm sorry multiple years of getting your ass kicked doesn't sound interesting..

I still, to this day, cannot believe that Marty couldn't see the rebuild coming....just simply cannot believe he didn't see it.

And I say that in response to him restructuring Luke, KK, and Trai...just doesn't make any sense.

Fine with that too if they are building the team correctly.

"IF" is the problem here..

We did it twice. Gross was quoted in the Athletic (I don’t subscribe, but it was posted in here) that in 2010 we did this where if any player didn’t fit the 5 year plan they were gone. We’ve started Weinke and Clausen in 2001 and 2010. Those were give up seasons and we got Cam and Luke and Peppers and Gross with picks 1 and 9 and 2 and 8 the next two drafts.

People really do have short term memory now. Yes, the plan is a 4-5 year rebuild. The last two times we made the playoffs in year 2 and 3 and SB in year 2 and 5. 2003 was a ridiculously quick turnaround. 2015 is far more likely although it sure felt like we should have had a better finish in 2013.

Ron and Marty were fighting for their lives the last couple years. Somehow Marty’s hung on but their CYA probably led to ignoring Cam’s injuries that we fans could see as well as maybe signing questionable FAs like Paradis And Williams, who clearly weren’t close to pre-injury form.

The problem is, you don't need to tear it down, until it is falling in around you...that's where we are.

This home has a crumbling foundation, we can continue to patch it up and try to make it through the next year, but that's all you are doing, putting a patch on it....to go 6=10 or 7-9.

Time to rebuild the home.

It's why I wanted Tepper to clean house when he bought the team, lame duck coaches and GM's rarely make good long term decisions for the team.

And here we are.

FYI: Jourdan Rodrigue confirmed in the Addison article that Marty's contract is up after this season.
