Honestly. Our run defense And more overly defense as a whole was fine(in fact ranked in the top 10) last year until KK went out. 
 

I have no idea why there is so much hate for KK here. He’s a solid player. More of a 4/3 DL but solid none the less.

Umm my reply is about Poe not KK. KK was the only player that could play a NT in a 3/4. Poe on the other hand, nope.

All I did was put on my GM hat, looked at the 2020 roster with associated salaries and said, " if I was overseeing a total rebuild, who would go?"  Those three particular salaries jumped off the page to me with either no dead cap, a limited hit or overwhelming savings to justify some additional dead money.

Probably some of our RFAs and ERFAs.  Those are easy.  All aged, high-salary players will be gone.  Not to cross threads, but Addison will be about the only exception with perhaps Van Roten and Cockrell.   Years and money will be key, 1-2 year deals and below average market value.  Cockrell simply to be the firewall for what seems an imminent Bradberry departure.  Van Roten; depth if this Turner trade rumor has any merit.  Possibly Elliott too.  That's really about it.

I will preface this by saying I don't think we should get rid of Short.  But he went out in the second game.  And the Rams abused us in the first game with Gurley and Brown getting a combined 150 yards on 25 carries.  Gurley had his best game of the year against us.  Our run defense was bad from the start last year.

Unfortunately, he never played up to his salary.  If you have him on half of what we're paying him, no one complains a bit.

We had an All Pro defensive line going into last season and when Cam's injury happened in Preseason, we all should've known the poo show to come.

Just found this.  In the past a declined option year would have netted us a comp pick if the player was signed by another team.  Starting in 2020 it will not.  They changed the rule last year.  Just to be fair this is not a shitting on Hurney thing because teams everywhere do it.  The Eagles probably more than everyone else.  But now it is treated just like we cut the guy.
