1. Let the pending free agents over 30 walk

2. Cut Dontari Poe and Mike Davis

3. Re-sign James Bradberry and Tre Boston

4. Extend Taylor Moton and Curtis Samuel

5. Sign Joe Thuney or Brandon Scherff

6. Sign Robby Anderson or Taylor Gabriel

7. Pick the top defensive prospect at No. 7

8. Trade down at least twice

9. A heavy defense-first draft class

10. Pick a wide receiver and a tight end

11. Add more offensive line depth

I'm not really wanting a FA WR with this super stacked WR draft but then again, that super stacked WR draft might drive down the FA market and we might be able to get a guy like Anderson for a relative bargain.

3. I swear to God I must have watched an alternate reality version of Boston last season.  I am not seeing where he is a must sign.  I thought he was well below average and severely limited at times.  One trick pony

8.  They are recommending stay at 7 then trade down from there.  So I am not sure how they want us to pick mims and trade down.  He is going to be gone early in the 2nd.

 

They are kindof talking out of both sides of their mouth.  They want us to draft heavy defense at first and then a wr and then more line depth.  There are only so many picks and so many prospects.

I agree about Boston.  He is not worth a multi-year contract and last season showed why he's completely serviceable but expendable.  Also why the Chargers and Cardinals let him go after "good" seasons.

I'm fine with retaining Boston but not with a significant contract. He and the media always think he's worth significantly more than he is. Let him test FA and then sign him late in the process for a reasonable contract after he swings for the fences and whiffs.

I m don't seen anyone mentioning the need for a Goalline back or hammer as a need. As many CMC stuffs at the 1 or 4th and 1 I thought would have made this painfully obvious. I dout we endanger cam in that manner anymore so I present

I like Dillon. But after that combine he is gonna go pretty high. 
He posted some great numbers.

Dillion is a power back; he lacks wiggle.  I'm fine with that for short yardage and goal line.  We could use a battering ram because the last staff was afraid to put CMC in those type of situations where it's required to lower the head, run into a wall and plow forward.

I mean he lacks side to side speed yes, but he is fast enough to break a few big runs, he isn't much slower than cmc based off 40 time.

You are correct in straight line speed, but lacks wiggle in terms of jukes, cuts...things like that.  Dillon is a very tight runner and is not going to make 'ankle breaking' moves on  defenders.  Again, good for short yardage.

100% agree.

3. Re-sign James Bradberry and Tre Boston

This depends on price the. Neither player is worth breaking the bank for.

4. Extend Taylor Moton and Curtis Samuel

This is another "depends on price." Samuel is not a guy I would invest more than a minimal amount. He's not a real WR, more of a utility/role player. Moton is a good OT, but he shouldn't get paid as a top shelf OT.

5. Sign Joe Thuney or Brandon Scherff

Love the idea. But, don't break the bank on a OG.

6. Sign Robby Anderson or Taylor Gabriel

Unless they are cheap, there is no reason to overspend on a WR. This is a deep WR draft.

7. Pick the top defensive prospect at No. 7

I can generally agree with this.

8. Trade down at least twice

Without any context, this seems completely foolish. If you don't trade down from #7(see bullet point 7.), then you are talking about trading down in what rounds? We are in prime position in the 2nd and 3rd round, as well. Unless we can get some other top 4 round draft picks, I am not sure what the value of trading down is without seeing the actual trades.

9. A heavy defense-first draft class

We need help on defense but I don't want to see panic drafting based on need. Some of the defensive holes can be filled through free agency. 

10. Pick a wide receiver and a tight end

This is a deep WR draft, so it would be a shame to ignore that. TE isn't as critical, IMO. We can sign a decent option in FA and Thomas is still here. We don't need to chase a TE in the draft.

11. Add more offensive line depth

This is easily our weakest position group on the team. We have to improve the starters and the depth on the OL. We simply cannot keep trotting out couch FA's, UDFA's, overdrafted players and free agency blunders and hope they are a cohesive unit. Just......DO BETTER.
