Extending Shaq vs Bradberry... another Hurney mistake?

Bradberry is better than Shaq, but Shaq is a better deal. Plus, i'm sure Hurney already knew Luke was going to retire & needed a possible replacement for him. Thus he signs Shaq to a 4-year extension. Hopefully Donte Jackson can step up & handle #1 WRs from now on.

Plus, we already have upcoming players who could step in right away as OLBs (i.e. Burns, Haynes Miller). Possibly sign a vet CB & draft another around 2nd-3rd round to help replace Bradberry.

I like Bradberry, but he ain't worth 15-16 Mil/year. More like 10-11 Mil/year.

I'd rather have Shaq at his current deal than Bradberry at 15 million a year. The truth is we tried multiple times to re-sign Bradberry last offseason and this year and he (rightfully so) bet on himself and held out. 

I'm glad James is getting paid this offseason, and I'm glad it won't be us paying him that much.

Losing Bradbury might be a positive if he doesn't fit the new scheme, whatever that is. All I have heard is maybe 4-3 early in the process and that the new DB coach?, from the 3 question article a little while ago, likes fast CBs which wouldn't be Bradbury.

Good for him but not at that price.

Economics dictates you pay more in an area of short supply. You could draft a corner and get some of the same results as Bradberry but you aren't going to draft a guy to replace both Shaq and Luke. 

Plus $16 mm per year for a position group HEAVILY dependent upon everyone in front of them and scheme is far too much money, in my opinion.

Why do some of you have to search out and try to find things that are wrong or are "mistakes"? It is really becoming tiresome to come try to catch up on news about my favorite team, and see nothing but negative posts.

I'll take Shaq...3 corners in one draft and letting Norman walk was way worse...

There are only maybe 2-3 CB’s a year worth that kind of money. Bradberry isn’t one of those player, he’s good to very good at times. But not elite. 
 

CB’s are a Luxury position. We got bigger fish to fry before we over pay for a CB
