IMO, at this time, let him walk, field the worst defense in the league, and build if from the ground up starting with this draft class.

We can't be good in 2020, I don't want to start trying now.

P.S. that cap space would be rolled into next season, or used to "buy out" KK's contract.

At this rate we are already going to have to rebuild "whole  position group " at DL, LB, Secondary,  a new QB and Half the fan base wants to redo the Oline WR and TE...

We won't be competitive until 2025 at this rate...

HOPEFULLY!! LOL

At this point why pay anybody and field a football team...

I don’t know. I tried to discuss keeping JB, but that wasn’t good enough.

You just went on a rant about getting rid of CMC. Or is trading him not the same as JB or Moton or Shaq? So who’s getting rid of players here?

The entire teams needs a full strip down and reset, anybody that will be over the age of 27 at the start of the 2020 team needs to keep their Realtor on speed dial.

The sooner we tear it down and go at this correctly, the sooner we will get to consistent winning.....something that was never going to happen with Ron and Jerry here, and something that won't happen as long as Marty is here either.

Even though that $14-15 million may not be a big % of the cap in the future, I don't see the point in spending it now (and losing the potential 3rd round comp pick) unless we're expecting to compete in the next 2 years or so.

As with most things this offseason, it comes down to Cam.  If Cam is 100% coming back, you re-sign Bradberry IMO.  If Cam is gone, you nuke it, field the worst defense in the league, and go into obtaining asset mode. Which would mean keeping that cap space and getting that comp pick while Bradberry signs for 15/year in Washington or wherever else.

Cap is going up 20% in the next 2 years.. We are already going to be cut salaries of other older players.. Bradberry is a keeper and still young enough to be a piece for the future..

That is not assured until the CBA is hammered out. That is part of the problem, we are attempting to negotiate in the face of so much uncertainty.

Your deal looks good to us but does it to JB.. If it works ot works.. And RT, LB and CB are higher value less replaceable position.. With a longer shelf life of prime play.. Difference..

Marty gambled on the cap rising once in the past and it bit us in the ass hard....not interested in that move again.

So, not 20%?

I'm really not going to do the math for you.. But its expected to be 200mil from 188 2019 if it increases at it's normal (like it has for the last 5 to 6 years or so) rate about 10.2 mill a year.. We're looking at close to 211.4 mill by 2021.. Which is truly close to a 20% increase in 2 years...

Is that okay with you..

Average at a position or top 2(at worst) at a position. The level of play is not comparable to CMC. And I would trade him right now too while his value is at its highest. Only one I would try to sign is Moton, and that’s because he can move positions and be effective and be worth it in 3 years.

What’s your idea here? Just give him whatever he wants? Not too mention he may not be that enthused about signing here anyhow. You may not see the rebuild but the players do.

The article says it's going to do this regardless if a new CBS is signed or not.. The new tv deals are expected to be large..

JB should've been extended last year, but wasn't. We knew what we had with him, but kicked the decision down the line, and here we are. There's a difference between wanting him here and not wanting him here when the pricetag is $15M per.

We need to figure out Moton, CMC and Samuel before history repeats itself.
