What are the chances we make a splashy FA signing?

We have like $35mil before any potential cuts like Poe or Short. I don’t see us getting rid of Short but we could free up another what, $12mil cutting Poe?  I could see us getting one semi splashy or maybe splashy FA. Dunno if that’s how Rhule operates

. I could see us possibly going after Clowney (splashy) or JPP (semi splashy).  There’s a number of mid tier MLBs available too. Schobert, Ogletree, Bradham (I think). I definitely see us signing one of those (or an equivalent).

No you diidn't.

You know we love some Clowney down here. Jersey sales in SC would go up for sure. Not the level of the prodigal son Julius Peppers returning but close.

No need to make a splash in FA. Splashes are for teams on the cusp of making a solid run.

Fill the team needs, roll over as much cap as allowed while we rebuild, and make the splash when we are just about there. No need for a big contract just to get to 6 wins.

Exactly this. Build the team with draft picks and maybe some young cheap FAs just to kick the tires and roll the dice. Do this while saving up enough cap space that we can plug two, maybe three free agents in two years and be a contender. Signing big FAs right now is just a burden.

Tony Pauline reported free agent WR aren't getting close to what they want in free agency due to the loaded WR class. Im hoping this means we can land Robby Anderson for 11 Million.

If we going to pay 11 million for a WR, we might as well go for AJ Green.lol

Robby Anderson is not worth 11 million.

Only splash worth making is Brandon Schrerff, grab some dt just in case brown isn’t there at 7 and a vet cb if bradberry isn’t being tagged. Than bpa rounds 1-4, profit

Im convinced we are taking Simmons at #7 if he is still on the board regardless of what we do in FA.

Not opposed but we need to bring back McCoy and another vet dt if that’s the case. That needs to happen regardless of who we plan on drafting really

Bro we are rebuilding lol. We already have a vet on the Dline in KK. No need to keep getting older on the Dline.

Rebuilding doesn’t mean just leave gaping holes in the d line....you can rebuild and still get younger those two things are exclusively separate

For this team it does... Just draft the most talented player no matter position.. We're going to suck for 3 years any way.. We might as well stock up on talent..  And fit them in as we go..

I don’t think it’s going to be that long, hc and staff was the biggest portion needing a rebuild, the roster if you’re keeping cam, is maybe a season away or less depending his play.

fill holes where you can and draft bpa imo, of course I don’t want to sign older guys to long term contracts but a couple guys are worthy of it

Im not saying don't fill the holes. Just don't pay quality money for players who best days are behind them. Paying McCoy wouldn't make sense at this stage of his career and the timeline of the team. KK is enough as a vet leader for the Dline.

Well I mention McCoy cause he’ll be cheaper and on a short term deal compared to the other dt’s on the market like reader and Jordan Phillips. If we don’t get Derrick brown, barring picking one in the 2nd or 3rd I don’t think you’re going to find an adequate starter at dt. If we’re not spending the money else where mines as well 1 yr deal it up until we’re ready to compete again
