How much faith do you have left in KK Short?

Years ago he seemed like one of the best DTs in the league. Over the past few seasons though, (since getting paid) he has seemed far less than that.

 

Is KK Short still a dominant DT in this league?

He could have a impact if we get him another young prospect to take pressure off him. Kinlaw/Brown would give him that.

None at this point other than him showing up the camp over 300 lbs.

If he can stay healthy, he's still a formidable pass rusher.  I think he needs someone to help take up space against the run.

Years ago he had a Dominant NT commanding double teams.  The past 2 years he's dealt with injuries. 

I trust him enough to see what he's got this year if we add a stud DT beside him and he's healthy.

Take the dead cap hit now, and move on.  Get younger, hungry guys to start....we simply can't be any worse vs. the run than we were last season.

I have faith that he is an above average starting DT in the league. He showed that last year and look at the line performance after he went down. Even after his injury we still had two pro bowl DT’s in McCoy and Poe, but yet we still looked like garbage defending the run.

The thing about evaluating players is it's not just how good they are, but how long they stay good.

Some guys are above average to good for a long time. Others are what I call "nitrous oxide" players, really good for a short burst but they drop off fast.

I think that's Short.

His highest peak may have been short but he’s still been an above average player since 2014 pretty much.
