How many GM's draft better than Hurney?

I’m just curious...why do you think the Panthers have been the only team interested in Hurney and why do you believe he was jobless for 4 seasons when he was fired?

Rivera was passed up 9 times as a HC but the panthers were the only team willing to give him a job. 3 winning seasons out of 9. We sure benefited from that.....

Just because nobody else was interested it doesnt necessarily mean it was good or bad hire.

Is anyone going to list of examples of GM’s who draft better? Someone who hates Hurney please just give me 5 names and let’s compare their draft classes.

It's not just about draft classes, it's about how those draft classes fit. I am not nearly as well versed in their team dynamics as ours. But from the outside looking in without all that info..

Ravens

9ers

Seahawks

Patriots

Steelers

Gettleman

I didnt sneak in anything. I think Gettleman has drafted better for 2 teams than Hurney has for the Panthers.

It's not by much, but I think he has picked players whose combined production and fit has exceeded those Hurney has selected.

5-11 and 4-12 with the Giants. He is worse than Hurney.

I'd say he's top 10 for sure. Can you list 10 GM's with a proven track record of drafting better?

I'll give you one,  John Schneider (Seahawks), now who can name 9 more?

That explains why he didn’t get another job after being fired by JR until JR hired him again.

It's pretty simple. Richardson never wanted to fire him to start with but someone's head had to roll. Rivera or Hurney. So when Gman pissed off JR, it was the perfect time to bring him back. Any interviews with other candidates were a joke and everyone knew it. The job was always Hurney's.

How he has kept it I dont know, but his track record has shown he cant build a consistently performing team.

Him keeping the job after new ownership is pretty telling, even with jr gift wrapping him the job the 2nd time.

the second part is a separate discussion from his draft choices

He kept Ron Rivera too.

That sure worked out great, huh?

How he got a job is pretty simple. Jerry Richardson is the same idiot that promoted him to a job he wasn't qualified for in the first place (a habit of his, actually).

How he's keeping it is still up in the air. Unfortunately, the answer might turn out to be that David Tepper doesn't know what he's doing either.

So it seems like you’re dead set on whomever keeps hurney as a gm doesn’t know what they’re doing.....I mean jr fine but if tepper keeps him he doesn’t know what he’s doing, if *insert nfl owner* hires him they don’t know what they’re doing
