How many GM's draft better than Hurney?

Let me try and explain what's going on here.

Say for a moment that we were talking about a wide receiver that we had on roster. Here's what we know about him:

He doesn't catch the ball very well.

In fact, he drops a lot of very catchable passes.

He's not very fast, or very big, or very strong.

He has trouble getting separation from defenders.

But with all that said, he does do one thing very well. He runs really great routes.

Now, following the logic of our resident Marty defenders, that guy should be our starter.

Sure, he might not be all that effective overall, but he does that one thing really well and that's good enough for them.

Sounds ridiculous when you put it in terms of a player, right?

Guess what? It doesn't sound any smarter when you apply it to a general manager.

But they're still trying...

That assumes he doesn't do anything well but draft. That is clearly your opinion but obviously Tepper who worked with him daily and actually knows the inner workings intimately,  disagrees. So should we assume a fan with no NFL experience and no knowledge of what goes on but what he reads in print or through interviews is correct or should we believe a guy who was a minority owner for Pittsburgh for years, is a self made billionaire who can consult with some of the top minds in football, and who has 2.5 billions reasons to hire the right GM.  Just because you say something over and over doesn't make it right except in your mind.

How can one possibly say he has drafted well for the Giants?

2018: Barkley, Hernandez, BJ Hill, L. Carter. 4 starters. Because of skill not injury. And I’ll just let this grade the 2019 class below....Would you like to compare that to DJ Moore, Burns anddddd?????

The Giants made the most of their haul from the Odell Beckham trade, which landed them, in part, the 17th overall pick, by selecting Dexter Lawrence, who had a solid rookie season. New York also might have found its franchise QB in Daniel Jones, answering a huge question for the team’s foundation. DeAndre Baker had a tough start but finished strong and stands to make a significant improvement in Year 2. Oshane Ximines was effective in his first season despite making just two starts, recording 4.5 sacks. Julian Love is an exciting young player for the back end of New York’s defense. Darius Slayton was an excellent find in the fifth round. Corey Ballentine struggled with a position change to the slot, but he could improve with more time.

4 starters, 5-11

As expected. Discussing it would require actual thought. Poor thing. You asked the question. Sorry if you don’t like the answers.

Gettleman’s Giants W/L records proves that he’s currently a worse GM than Hurney.

Of course they do. You asked about the draft classes. Are you not capable of defending your statement. Just tell us why? And what years do we use for Hurney? One of those 3 magical playoff seasons in 13 tries. Somehow a “worse” GM beat that with 4 in 5 years. Or does doing the exact same job much better not count?

Don’t worry.... I know the answer.

Gettleman’s amazing draft class led the Giants to a 5-11 record.

BJ Hill, a defensive end with a total of 1 sack in 2019 LMAO.

Will Hernandez, PFF grade of 58.6

Hey, I can make a post about Carolina’s 2019 draft class and make it sound sexy as well.

Ok. Scratch him. He’s no Greg Little, but that’s OK.

What did he have in 2018. And it still wouldn’t matter. Some 3-4 defenses actually stop the run And I’m guessing you decided not to put his PFF grade(75.9) out there because it didn’t help you in this case. So. As usual, you made up whatever you need to make your fantasy work.

Now let’s discuss the Panthers 2018-19 classes to those. Using your selective criteria. How many starters you got? The Giants got many more. You brought this up. Quit cherry-picking whatever’s suits the agenda.

The number of starters is irrelevant. If your team is poo you will have more rookie starters.

Brian Burns would be a Starter in New York.
