It still sounds fluid but it was handled acceptably by Rhule, which is a nice improvement. Beyond the coach speak, I'm interested in seeing what traits he values in players. Chip Kelly was looking at player's knee size and I hope Rhule can be the polar opposite of that BS. I also worry about his kind of players taking longer to learn positions if they get real crazy with the traits over position SOP but it's early and hope is still alive with Rhule. I thought the we have 3 good QBs comment was BS coach speak and his kissing Cauglin's butt was a little much but all in all it sounds good so far and he seems to be learning the ropes well.

Again, the situation is fluid, but things are looking more like Newton could be here in 2020. Calling it a done deal would be premature though. Anything can still happen.

Gantt is right. Everybody wants an answer right now, but to assume there is one is a mistake.

As mentioned above, if I were making a prediction based on what we know now, I'd say Newton plays here in 2020. Wouldn't put any money on him playing here past that just yet, but that could change.

But again, all of this is based on him being healthy, and staying healthy, both of which are definitely not guaranteed.

It's conceivable Newton's final season could be spent on IR, which would be a nightmare for both Cam and the Panthers.

The Panthers previously said they thought he could pass a physical in March. Rapoport is now saying not till further out, possibly much further.

Not being healthy till June or later means that the Draft will be done and Free Agency will be largely as far as major positions and pretty much anybody who would have had a need at quarterback will likely have filled it.

Even if the Panthers do still want to trade Newton at that point, there'll be no market.

That, more so than anything Rhule said, is what leads me to believe Newton could be on roster this season. But not knowing whether or not you've got a healthy quarterback till September is an absolute nightmare scenario for the team.

Conspiracy theory in thinks they hold firm on the qb situation, string cam along all summer, finally say he isnt healthy and cut him or IR or whatever. Trot out grier and pick Lawrence in 2021.  Then say see we didn't try to tank cam just couldn't get healthy ta-da

The Redskins used to do that. I'd have to check the timeline but Marty might have been there when they did. He'd likely be aware of it at least.
