His base salary was 1 mill--so I did not really count it.

If he had waited until after 2015...

However, 2017 is the season that has divided people because it was very solid.  Of course, he was entering his prime and the pounding was just starting to hit him.  I just think the body says "I am done" based on hits, not years.  If I am correct, then Cam is the equivalent of a 83-year old QB.

Why would you not count the FIRST season of a contract? One that he played at an MVP level and would have changed every number in your scenario. Just say I cherrypicked what I needed to make another theory.

why is the guy that is definitely getting traded or cut working out in team facilities with team staff? It’s almost as if we are giving him more resources. Hmmmm........... why would we do that?

Impartial, but if they wanted to trade him they literally would want him healthy. Idk, says alot when you're trying to trade your only decent linemen other then Moton

Yeah and now people are thinking CMC could be on the trading block. Man going to be awhile before we are relevant again. Tough time for Panthers fans. SMH

Rhule interview with Peter King dropped today. a whole lot of stuff about Cam and Rhule sounds less ambiguous than he has in any other interview about his plans for Cam.

I’m sure someone will misunderstand what I am saying, take offense and poo me but I mean this as an absolute compliment.

Cam’s personality seems to fit the kind of play Rhule wants perfectly. He still plays like a child on the field in that you get the impression he would be doing this even if he wasn’t getting paid. Same as people used to say about Brett Favre. “He’s just a big kid out there.”

Thats probably what I love most about Cam. He seriously loves the game. He seriously has fun out there. It seems like he plays in the NFL just the same as he did in high school. Playing football is just something he wants to do.

Thats the kind of player Rhule wants and the kind of player Rhule can speak to. Rhule is passionate and will get passionate players fired up.

Now I still really question if Cam’s body can hold up. Sadly, I think this organization might have broken him already. But I really hope I’m wrong. I’ll miss seeing that big ass “fake” smile after Superman flips into the end zone. I hope we not only keep the tradition of giving balls to gets that he started, but I hope we can name the tradition after him and let his legacy live on forever in that way. Similar to the Packers “Lambeau leap” I hope we can find an awesome name honoring Newton and keep giving TD balls to children forever

He basically said that the first option is Cam. He did of course qualify it with him being healthy, but he deflected trade talk, and said that with the style of offense that they are installing, he felt that Cam could be great again.

"When you look at the position, guys are playing elite QB play way beyond the age of 29, 30"

"He's always been in a very aggressive offense where he pushes the ball down the field, and as we move into our system, which will be more 'rhythm, get the ball out of his hand,' I think he has a chance to be a really special player"

re: 3 quarterbacks starting games last season: "I think Cam is the first path we're going to go down, because he's *here*"

"if he's healthy, that allows us to use those picks, those resources, to build up the other positions on the team, which I think is really important"

King talking about how he spoke to Cam at training camp 2019 and that Cam was looking forward to evolving as a quarterback, Rhule: "I think that's definitely true. He wants to develop his game and have the next part of his career be the best part of his career."

"Quarterback's a position where you appreciate over time"

"When you have a chance to get a guy who's still in his prime but still has a lot of experience, if you channel that the right way, allow them some freedom to make decisions, you're getting something good in return."

"I think he'll thrive in the system"

"I think his ability to blend his experience with his rare talent is what we're excited about"

King asks what Rhule's thought process was when he went to hire Joe Brady: "I thought about Cam, and what he needed, a quarterback-friendly offense that's gonna allow him to stay upright and be a great quarterback"

The fact he hired his OC to fit #1 says a lot about the future of this franchise. If Cam is healthy expect him to get an extension

I feel this is the year they will see how Cam fits with this new offense and him being in the last year of his contract makes this a perfect scenario. He has to prove his worth whether it be for the Panthers or for another team. So if it works out guess what, not as long of a rebuild resign him 4-5 years and build around him. If it doesn’t work it wont be hard to cut ties and start the second phase of the rebuild.

you really can't go a day without logging in and discussing Cam, can you?

Why do the most insecure posters on this board constantly worry about what others do?  At least I do not change my username because the previous names become synonymous with "dickhole" after a few weeks.   Talk Panthers or shut up. The thread is about Cam.
