Almost 17,000 views. Jesus. Most polarizing player in our history.

Hey, at least he  didn't get arrested for dogfighting and force his teams messageboard to set up an entire forum about him. Any mention of him got the thread moved to the forum, so we started referring to him as YKW. Sigh.

"My understanding of Cam Newton's surgery is that they put a webbing in the bottom of his foot to kinda help ease the process and make sure that there are no complications going forward," Rapoport said during coverage of the NFL Scouting Combine. "So you don't have to go back in and take the screws out, for instance. It's a fully-approved procedure, it's done by a very respected doctor in Charlotte."

As Rapoport explained, what made this surgery unique is that screws are generally used to fix the Lisfranc injury. They are put in the bottom of the foot to keep it patched together, and then they either dissolve or are removed in a later procedure. This webbing was a different process.

The recovery process is ongoing, and Newton is expected to be back at 100 percent by next season. However, Rapoport also revealed that this situation is a little more complicated. There isn't a "precedent" that has been set by other professional players. No other quarterbacks have really been in this position before, especially any that run as frequently as Newton.

Where did he claim that others don't have a GPS?

And, if you have to go back a decade to find an example of a mistake in someone's GPS, that means they do a pretty good job with that GPS.

When did I say that he said others didn't have a GPS?  That was kinds my point. That his "GPS" isn't superior to anyone else's. So don't patronize people.

"because it speaks to your "GPS" that you so patronizingly claim to have that others don't. "

This may be true, but will this not be the third time since the 2017 season we have heard that?  (Not your words or point, but I am using it to make mine). 2016, the first year of his second contract was a disaster.  Then a solid 2017, and then two seasons marred by injury again.  So basically, we have paid him $80m for one good season in four.  His 2015 season was incredible--one of the best seasons ever for a QB--and 2017 was very good.

So let's say the deal he signed in 2016 was a 4-year deal. 25% of the contract, he played very well.  He missed 25% of the contract in a sling or boot.  Would we re-sign him to a $33m deal for the next 4 years?

Maybe the 2020 season will give us perfect vision into what we have in Cam.   (see, I used 2020 and perfect vision in a sentence.  That is Pulitzer stuff there. ) He had a great year the last time his contract was ending.

At this point, there is no way I write him a check.

He got extended in 2015...... but sure.

His base salary was 1 mill--so I did not really count it.

If he had waited until after 2015...

However, 2017 is the season that has divided people because it was very solid.  Of course, he was entering his prime and the pounding was just starting to hit him.  I just think the body says "I am done" based on hits, not years.  If I am correct, then Cam is the equivalent of a 83-year old QB.

Funny thing is, in 16, he was playing some darn good ball. Had some of his best throws and was seeing the field real well. Too bad KB was there and then ruined cams shoulder.

He's always in Cam's pockets too. Never seen him act that way with other players. Yet he wanted to give Kyle Allen a contract extension after a few games. I wonder how that would have worked out for us? These old timers are out in the open with their agendas.
