Tepper made his famously "non-committal" remarks just a couple of weeks ago.

I'm pretty sure Matt Rhule was already on the job by then.

Yeah, but had Rhule had time to watch film and assess anything and make any decisions by then? Probably not.

But it now seems Rhule has assessed that he wants to coach #1 as any sane coach would;-)

Yet Tepper still hasn't said anything different.

It's not a question that was likely to be answered until March or April as it was. Now it's not likely to be answered until far later than that.

Newton's rehab dragging out puts the team in a real bind. They might have had choices before, but now they might not. At least not as far as this coming season.

The years to follow are another story.

Please provide me a source with this quote of Cam Newton saying his shoulder is "f*cked up".

Don't keep me waiting.

His shoulder still wasnt 100% at the start of the season.  But now we are to believe it is?  Even though he hasnt practiced in a while?  Mind you he said this last month.   There was a thread on here about it.

Sorry to keep you waiting, my real job got in the way.

Your answer to my question is to reference a quote where he says his shoulder is currently "not an issue"?

So you are admitting you just made some poo up then?

2018: Cam "my shoulder is fine"

2019: Cam "my shoulder is fine" "My foot is fine"

2020: Cam "my shoulder is fine"

Certainly you see a pattern and the fact that he acknowledges the year off helped his shoulder even more shows he wasnt good to go last year.  And now we are to believe him.  This has train wreck written all over it.

I know we have a lot of opinions here. It’s certainly going to be an interesting couple of months. I still think there’s a good chance he stays, and we’ll just have to see how it plays out.

Things can change, but for the moment the most likely outcome sounds like it'll be Newton staying here for the last year of his deal.

As with before, that's definitely not guaranteed. It's just what seems most likely at the moment. As always, things are fluid and anything can happen.

But assuming he does stay, whether he makes it through the year healthy is something I'm a lot less confident about. And given the past three seasons, that's warranted.

As always, the most important thing for me is that we win, though my expectations for that this year are, shall we say, low.

I'd say it is reasonable to expect 2 years of healing with 2 games will have Cam's shoulder as close to 100% as possible. He did not get hit much in his 2 games... If his shoulder is still screwed... We started 0-2 with him last year, we'd be on our way to TL or Fields.

Unless it is degenerative.
