That was what we were told, now we are hearing "I'll be fine if he's not fully healthy until Sept."....big big difference from where we were when he went under the knife.

Very big difference. I don't think that's the case though. More of a pre-emptive statement for a "possibility" to show their dedication to Cam. PR repair from Tepper's statement a few weeks ago.

It’s not going to be fun and your last paragraph is my biggest concern. He hasn’t finished 3 of the last 4 years and the one he did he looked terrible arm wise and threw for under 200 yards 11 out of 16. People mention other QB injuries. Well in most cases they were either small (Brees’ thumb) or they sat out almost a year and got healthy. Cam missed what 4 games in the first three years he was hurting then finally he sat out most of last year. Not his fault, he had morons helping or hurting him. Now we’ve got another surgery at the end of the year and the hope he’s ready for the start of the year. Ugh. Same old same old. People might think I hate Cam, I don’t. I just think 5 straight years of injuries and/or off season surgery isn’t going to get him back to an MVP level so I’d rather blow it up and go for that franchise QB on a rookie deal and hope for the best.

Honestly, I just worry that he can't play QB anymore just because of the myriad of injuries has just worn away a lot of those great physical traits that put him head and shoulders above the crowd. He's a great fellow, but this is a rough sport and it wears at the best of them. We saw Luke retire this season out of the blue because of the toll of injuries and the wear and tear on a human body.

Like I said, it might be good to go ahead and get a replacement in house from the draft. If he plays well, but Cam is good to go, then we have a Brady situation where we hold onto the number one guy and have a quality replacement in the wings to either play down the road or trade.

Agreed. I honestly don’t feel better about all the announcements. If they decide to keep Cam, great. Whether or not I felt a complete rebuild was best, that’s the first decision. That said hearing that he’s months out from knowing if he’s healthy just brings me back to the past three offseasons. Is Cam healthy? Will he be start the year and will he make it to the end? Shades of reinjury from Cam last year and Olsen’s foot as well. You just don’t feel like the plan is solid and that we may commit to something because Cam’s health isn’t known. I have this gut feeling that this year will just be another 6-8 win lost season and we’ll miss out on some future franchise QBs. Here’s to Cam’s health otherwise we just screwed up the rebuild. Even with Cam when you’ve lost so many guys over the past few years, it’s a rebuild.

Fantastic post

Remember last month, the team indicated to Jourdan Rodrigue that they thought he'd be able to pass a physical in March.

that is what I was preaching about yesterday.  What happened?  Now its June or even Sept (potentially according to Rhule).  What does being healthy even mean at this point.

Panthers are in a pickle

We can only go off what we hear, and from what I'm hearing, it may be some time before Cam is a full go, at least that's what I'm getting when you try to sort through all of the BS out there.

I'm ready to say that I would be shocked if Cam has a full workout in March, and won't be surprised if it's not June at this point.

can't handle being wrong. never met a take he won't dispute. etc.

just admit your sources (and you) are likely wrong, and move along @Mr. Scot you don't have to play both sides and be "right" all the time.

Who has been wrong so far about anything? Cam isn’t starting the season opener yet and until then everybody is guessing. If/when Cam isn’t the starter at QB, there are going to be a lot of people on here eating their words on this issue.

Right now people are celebrating like anything has changed.
