Carolina sticking with Cam

Zack said it in November. It is now February and a new coach is in place, he also indeed said Cam's parties have changed their opinion. That man books cruises with Cam Newton for the Roaring Riot who the Panthers now officially recognize. The rumors that Cam being traded we're likely the Panthers making soft feelers to see what they could get for him. If the Bengals we're willing to accept the 7 and Cam for Burrow, the decision might've been different. It's possible for teams to change their mind you know lol.

It's fact Norv's offense likely worked better with a more traditional QB. It could've been decided before Cam's foot took a turn for the worse that Cam likely didn't fit here. But we we're 5-3 and looked to be at worst 9-7 with terrible teams on our schedule, Ron's job looked to be safe. Even if not Kyle Allen, at the time it was proven Ron didn't need Cam. Obviously things changed.

People on this board we're saying he was full of crap when in January and November he said Cam was likely out. He changed his position 5 hours before Rhule spoke, and now he is legitimate.

Yep plus he hasn't changed his tune.  He always said when cam is healthy in March the team will look to move him. But alas he is still not healthy and will not be through the draft or free agency.  The panthers have 2 options.  Hope he gets healthy or cut him.   And by "healthy" I am not even sure what that means at this point

Naw, you keep beating that drum nick cannon

there you go again just insinuating he was just making stuff up.  Like it or not Ian R is one of the most respected guys in the business.

He said when Cam gets healthy they will move him, Cam isnt healthy so they cannot move him.  Pretty simple actually

Here is what he said

“My belief, my understanding, is the Panthers will look to trade Cam Newton when he’s healthy. We don’t know for sure when he’s going to be healthy. He had surgery with hopes of being healthy in March, so that is the goal. I would expect him to be healthy in March, right around there, and for them to seek a trade with him regardless.”

If Cam is healthy then he stays according to Rhule. If Cam is not healthy you HAVE to keep him, because you have to actually pay the salary if a player is hurt if I'm not mistaken. If he can't pass a physical, you cannot cut him, that violates labor laws.

If Cam we're not healthy in March, they would probably not be insinuating that he is their starter. He could have a physical in June and still be cut, you don't have to cut him the day the league year starts.

I guarantee you calls we're made, no team was willing to give a 1st rounder. You'll have a hard time getting 64,000 seats renewed by cutting Cam, not replacing him, and suggesting a new stadium will be built where the PSLs are then worthless.

If they let Cam throw and don't design runs for him in the first several weeks, then I will lose hope pretty quick. I feel Cam running at 2017 rates can win a Super Bowl with any supporting cast, I think half his issue was Norv forcing him to pass. Didn't he throw like 47 times vs LA? Yea Norv, the surgically repaired arm throwing 47 times in one day does less damage then 5-10 designed runs where Cam is able to slide.

I thought they changed that but if you are correct and probably are then the Panthers A)had no other option and just saying what Rhule said today for effect and B)are pretty screwed if he cannot get healthy.

I wish someone would have asked Tepper last week or Rhule today as to what "healthy" is?  Is it 100% with the foot and shoulder?  Is it just where you can pass a physical?  Is it being able to go on cam day with limitations?  We simply dont know.  Because he was supposedly "healthy" at the beginning of the year last season.

I'm 95% sure you cannot fire an employee in the United States for an injury on the job that wasn't a careless mistake. Cam was doing his job and it is on video when the injury happened. If the injury was off the field (JPP Fireworks) then you can legally fire them. It may be different for the NFL, but I'm 95% sure firing because of injury while the employee is not medically cleared to return to work is a violation of labor laws.

That is on Ron for letting him play. Kyle Allen had proven he was more then capable of holding up the team for 8-10 weeks. We likely split the Rams bucs games to start 1-1 and have a similar run after Cam went out. Ron said himself he couldn't convince Cam to go out during meaningless games or while hurt. If Cam instantly went and got the foot repaired, he would've had preseason week 4 and would've likely been back after the team returned from London with a 6-1 record had the results with KA been the same. Plus more time for the shoulder to heal.
