Unless there are huge medical red flags with Tua there's no way he doesn't go in the top 6.

I agree, but their algorithm has curiously been dropping Tua here lately even though all his medical screens have been 'clear' where it wasn't dropping him before the medical clearances.  I find it odd, that's all.

I doubt their algorithm properly weighs the importance of the QB position.

@45catfan   yes its happening on fanspeak. In my personal opinion of how it will play out- Tua is 99.9996729% going to be in the top 5 drafted(honestly think top 3, just leaving some space). A while back I said the draft truly starts at #4. Burrow, Young, and Tua will be the picks. I will say for the public predicting draft picks, the hardest thing to do is forecast players with lots of medicals. All the current reports have been super positive, but we truly dont know.

Ive picked Tua in a few, just cannt get the right mix. I keep trying to be perfect and the panthers needs are around 25 players without QB being in them. I see no issue if by some miracle Tua is there at 7, not to pick him. I say that and not the biggest Tua fan either.

If you want a good laugh checkout the Deep Fried Draft, its very unique.... that #2... the top 25 is like one of the worst Ive ever seen this late. I have learnt to wait on Cs, RBs(no need this year), and safeties. They fall at times. Lastly I hope you know about the refresh trick- If you have a good draft going and dont like the 4th(/any) round pool, hit refresh and continue. It changes players at times and you can get a better pick. Plus at the end of the draft instead of going back doing all the selecting-type, rounds, board, etc just hold the back arrow and pick the sixth or seventh window back. Saves time.

heres another one, pick fast too- https://thedraftnetwork.com/mock-draft-machine

I started with fanspeak and prefer it over all others still. Theres another that allows trades, but if you think CBS and Deep fired are unrealistic, this one is 100x worse.

Yeah, that's the reason I stopped using the mock-draft-machine.  At first I thought it was far enough out they hadn't tightened thing up yet, but as time went on I realized they are just bad.

I really like their prospect profiles, but yeah... that draft machine is a mess. I didn't even realize they had that.

But hey, I'd take this all day everyday

7. Derrick Brown - DT, Auburn

38. Grant Delpit - S, LSU

69. Bryce Hall - CB, UVA

113. Chase Claypool - WR, ND

152. Michael Onwehu - OG, UM

184. James Lynch - DT, Baylor

221. Mitchell Wilcox - TE, USF

Finally, short of getting an extra pick somewhere, this is about as good as it gets for me with Brown gone:

7: R1P7
CB JEFFREY OKUDAH
OHIO STATE
38: R2P6
DL NEVILLE GALLIMORE
OKLAHOMA
69: R3P5
CESAR RUIZ
MICHIGAN
110: R4P7
JEREMY CHINN
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
152: R5P6
DL BRAVVION ROY
BAYLOR
184: R6P5
EDGE ALEX HIGHSMITH
CHARLOTTE
221: R7P7
QB JAMES MORGAN
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL

So does anyone remember about a little over a month ago I was saying that Love may catch fire and go in the top of the first round, possibly overtaking Herbert as the #3 QB off the board?  Back then he was a 3rd round prospect, some said 2nd.  Well, Bucky Brooks latest mock has Love going to the Bucs AND ahead of Herbert.  :)

I'm told former Michigan WR Donovan Peoples-Jones has visits set up with Carolina and Detroit (local pro day), a workout with the Jets and meetings set up with the Steelers, Colts and Cardinals. Peoples-Jones left Michigan with a year of eligibility remaining.

I've mocked DPJ to the Panthers some, but a while back.  The reason I've stopped is his stock has climbed to the point he has a real possibility of going in the 3rd round.  Too many immediate needs for a WR that high, IMO.  As much as some people are freaking out about the lack of depth at WR, we have holes at STARTING positions that probably should be addressed first.

Normally I'd agree with not taking a WR that high, but with the strength of this WR class I honestly think we're missing out on a tremendous opportunity if we don't take on in the first three rounds. Honestly, maximizing the strengths of this draft might mean taking an OT in the 1st and a WR in the 2nd.

I think you have to go pure BPA in the first. If it is DT, OT, LB, whatever....you take it. Play positional value and take BPA in the first

I get it, take the strength of the class and WR is definitely it.  However, there's two reasons I think we shouldn't.  The first, I've already mentioned...too many holes.  Secondly, as I've stated in prior threads, with the spread offense as the dominant force in college football now, WR classes should remain strong for the foreseeable future.   Granted, probably not this strong, but in another draft or two we may be in the position to take a day 2 WR.  We've got to put an engine in this car before worrying about the paint job.

First, who cares about the holes. We aren’t a playoff team next year and probably not 2021. BPA is great and it likely means a stud WR should be in day 2. We will not fill all the holes in one year. Second, the offenses in college aren’t making the WRs. This is an epically strong WR class.

We do need another WR based on Brady’s offense. If a stud WR is available you don’t take a need position. That’s what we have been doing the past two drafts and why instead of getting solid starters in day 2 we have DBs without positions, traded up for Ts trying out as a G and third string QBs.

    • I saw that too--and what you said made sense because there is something like that in the rules--said that he is unlikely to get picked up (and I was not suggesting that we do) and Jones wants to go to a winning team.   After getting beaten to death in NY behind a sub par OL, poor WRs, and brutal fan base, I get it.
    • True.  Sam and Baker did not do well here but went on to better things under better coaching, circumstances or both.  The real question is, ‘why aren’t the Panthers able to get improved performance out of ‘broken toys’, similar to Minnesota and Tampa? That is a rhetorical question.  I think we know the answer.   [The cultural reference to Pogo dates me, I’ll admit.]
    • Did I mention that he was on worse teams?  Yes.  Do QBs alone win games?  No.  Did Cam, on a much better team with some awesome defenses ever have 2 consecutive winning seasons?  No.  So now you are cherry picking,  If the overall stats are similar, you take a look at him.   I told you that you look at his skill set---but you wanted to tell me that he sucks and mentioned performance.  I just presented performance--and his numbers are very similar to Cam Newton's numbers--a player most call the best Panther QB ever--and I agree.  By the way, Fumbles are evidence of how bad his OL has been--so you are saying that a QB in a situation worse than Cam's who has stats and physical abilities very similar to Cam's should not be given a look when you have Bryce Young at QB?  You are going with that story because you simply talked your way into a corner and now you are trying to save face.  No good GM would do what you suggest because "he sucks."  Sorry, but the facts do not support you.  But no matter what eye-opening details I provide, there are some who are going to go their Google machines to try to find some reason to support an ignorant approach to developing the QB position.  You ignored the similarities to Cam and went cherry picking.  I know what you are doing--but I am only suggesting (as I have stated before) that we bring him in as one of three approaches to resolving the QB issue. Compete with Bryce and draft a QB. Basically, I am suggesting that Jones has the potential to replace Dalton and compete with Young.  He is a battered stock that could get better in a better situation--that is human nature.  Instead, I am called a Daniel Jones lover and superfan.  That is good debate--But a real sign of mature thinking is the inability to LOGICALLY consider alternative perspectives--which is actually a characteristic of intelligence.  Just so you know, I critique and perform research in my job.  I am often amazed at how the numbers do not support my suppositions.  I learned that my impression is often wrong until I look at the data.  In this case, I have considered all the important variables and he should get a shot.  Numbers don't lie--and when you and others resort to twisted name calling directed toward the poster--it verifies my position.
