I mean, I WANT him but I don't think we should take him at #7. I'd love to have him, we just have bigger priorities, IMO.

Yep. This lineman class looks ridiculous. We are TERRIBLE in the trenches. Take the best lineman on the board at #7 IMO.

I generally agree with that sentiment. I think we will end up with a high level player almost no matter what direction we decide to go in. I'm way, way, way, way more nervous about the 2nd to 7th rounds than I am the pick at #7.

I wasn't on the Simmons bandwagon, but man this dude is a athletic freak! We would go from Luke/TD to Shaq/Simmons. Not bad. My only concern is LB is not really important in todays NFL.

It would be if he can also play safety and slot cornerback roles to help disguise plays.

The combine is one of several pieces of the puzzle for a evaluators.

Brown’s 40 time was lax, but he looked great in several other drills.

He’s put elite play on tape, week in and week out. I think folks need to pump the brakes in terms of considering him a non top-10 pick now.

Simmons, on the other hand, performed as I expected. I would say he’s exceeded my expectations, but my expectations were sky high.

It’s a bit of a skills competition, in essence. Measurements and situational drills. You put brown in front of a G or C, he generally destroys them.

There will be some buzz over the next few days, and then things will reset.

It’s entertaining to watch. But I’ve never put a lot of stock into the combine. It’s become a spectacle, and many of those who cover it on Twitter are snarky dickbags.

I really don't care about the 40 of a DT. If you have a DT running a long way in a straight line on a play then something probably went very wrong (or maybe very right if he's returning a fumble or something). It's just not something that's going to happen very often

Simmons won't make it to our pick now...

DC salivate over that kind of chess piece you can put in your defense...

I knew a low 4.4 was a chance but 4.39.. Dam that is bleacher to bleacher speed for a LB...fug side line to side line...

I always felt Simmons would be a particularly good chess piece because his speed and athleticism could cover the big WR in our division, and allow flexibility in what we anticipate will be a less than talented defense the next few years.  BUT Brown, as a monster DT can be just as effective.  You can't go wrong with either, and that's a great place to be at number 7.

For the big guys, the 10 yard splits are probably a bigger deal than the 40 time.
