Did Bruce Irvin Just Hint That He's Leaving the Panthers?

Yesterday, Irvin tweed a couple of things that didn't seem very promising for Panther fans that would like to see him back in 2020.

Should Panthers fans read much into this? Maybe some, but I don't think there's much here honestly. Players tweet stuff like this all the time, especially when engaging with former teammates. With a new coaching staff in place and some uncertainty coming from the front office, Irvin could be looking at his options and you can't really blame the guy knowing that he's in the latter half of his career.

Seriously, not remotely shocking.  We are in the midst of a youth movement rebuild.  It would be much more shocking if he had re-signed with us.

He is old and we are rebuilding. Why would we sign him when we can develop our young talent?

Exactly.  I'm using the lens of viewing all of our UFAs as goners.  More interested to see which ones we actually do bring back.  I don't think it will be many, at all.  Maybe 1-2.

he honestly was pretty bad and if he wasn't a respected vet he would have had like 90 personal fouls last year

The 2019 season was Ron Rivera taking one last shot at proving that doing things his way could produce a winner.

It didn't.

Older veterans like Irvin were a big part of Rivera's MO. Makes complete sense that we'll be moving on from those guys.

Next breaking news, Gerald McCoy will not return to the Panthers next year.
