Something that Hasn't Been Talked About? Who is taking Luke's Role to Lead the LBs?

Will it have to be shaq? Does he play MLB? Do we have any decent MLBs on the roster?  What other LBs do we have that are even worth a damn?

I know its more popular to think about the olien or dline but I'm not too sure about our linebacker situation either.  Seems like we drafted some in past few years but none of them have really sticked out.

I'm not sure Burns or Mario can be counted as LBs especially not if we're going back to a 4-3. I'm talking specifically about guys who's main purpose is to help plug runs and cover TEs and RBs.

The contract Shaq signed indicates that he is now the de facto leader of the LB corps. I'd expect Shaq to be in all downs/packages.

I'd say it's likely the Panthers grab a FA linebacker and expect that Snow will take advantage of talent that he gets through FA and the draft to piece together a decent defense.

In addition, I have the feeling Luke will be around to help review tape, etc.

I think this year one will be drafted, but it's not a good year for LBs.  If we end up with Simmons in the first, Shaq and him would be a pretty awesome tandem.

I think this year will be about giving our younger players on the field to see what they can do.  Expect to see a lot of Haynes and Carter on the field.  Even Andre Smith.  They're coming into their prime, and with playing time, they have a chance to become long term parts of the team...if they're good enough.

I'd prefer to draft Brown or Kinlaw, as I think the need in the middle of the DLine is greater. However, if we ended up with Simmons, it would be interesting to see how he would be used. The Swiss Army Knife of defensive players.

I am going on record (which means it won't happen) now that Simmons will be the pick.  DTs are there in round 2 and 3, and Marty is probably thinking that Little is the LT and he needs a LG and some depth---

If Bradberry does not sign, a CB is in play, but they are deep this year.

The Pick will be

Simmons, Brown, or a QB
