Correct.

If we wanted to go all out for a year just to say we had a Super Bowl trophy, we may or may not actually get one but then we risk putting ourselves in poor position for future years (like the Broncos and Saints did).

If you want to rebuild the entire machine for long-term success oh, you don't do that in just a year.

I posted several examples that dispute that.....so...

I know you're not pretending like MJ has been a good owner, and ignoring the fact that he's been a complete cheapskate and mismanager since he brought the team back to Charlotte. The fact that he's signaling that maybe he'll do it now is promising, but I'll believe it when I see it.

If you read my post you can see I'm not giving Jordan credit for this.. I said it's hilarious that its actually might be working with the Hornets.. And Jordan kept his mouth shut and his hands off the process...

Huh? I hope you're being facetious, but if not, what decade did these 'quick' turnarounds occur?

Green Bay's was literally the last three seasons.

Look at those and see the losing seasons followed immediately by success. I can give you more examples of this, these are just the easy ones.

Green bay has Rodgers holding that team together with tape. Will be much harder when they have to rebuild with out him.

Eeehh, it's not as simple as just looking at the records and saying "this year they were bad, next year they were good".

You also have to go back and look at when new GM's and new coaches took over, how close the teams were in prior years, what they did with veteran players, etc.

Could it happen quick? Sure. It happened a lot quicker than Gettleman expected when he took over. But Tepper preaching patience is a smart move on his part because that's definitely not guaranteed.

I can give a good example of what picking repeatedly in the top 5 of the draft looks like.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/cle/

9 times in the past 25 seasons.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/jax/

8 times in the past 25 seasons.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rai/

8 times in the past 25 seasons.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/was/

7 times in the past 25 seasons.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/crd/

7 times in the past 25 seasons.

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/det/

7 times in the past 25 seasons.

How is all that top 5 talent treating those franchises?
