Panthers owner to PSL owners: Success “won’t happen overnight”

I called this when Tepper first bought the team.  Last year was hard to rebuild because it was impossible to cut anyone due to dead money’s and contract structure.  I also called Rivera would get fired and all core players will be gone and we will tank 2020.  Next year our cap room will be insane and we will likely have a top 5 pick.  2021 will be a completely new team fellas.

The hilarious part of this is .. The other Pro team and owner in town is quiet as hell and was forced into this.. And might actually be doing this the right way.. With young developing and entertaining talent and a talent evaluator most fans trust... lmao...

People need to quit crying. He wants nothing more than for us to win a championship and in order to do that we had to tear it down to build it back up. Almost everyone was crying for a total change 3/4 of the way through last season and now that it’s here many just want to complain. I guess we should have stuck with the same vets for the next 4 years and stay between 6-10 and 9-7 to make you happy because it makes you feel warm and fuzzy that they have played with us for a while. Remember after Jimmy the Pickle year we got Cam, and it was a few years until we were competing again (but watching the build and growth was fun). That same thing will happen but at least now it will be exciting to watch our team grow into hopefully a championship caliber program. Give the team a chance it definitely won’t happen this season but we can build something special in a couple seasons, and hopefully see great progress as we are building it back up.

Difference is Richardson wasn't openly trying to suck on purpose.. They atleast let it happen naturally and also got lucky with Cam.. Let's remember this place was the black plague.. When the real target of the tank decided to go back to college... Tanking on purpose is s dumbass idea..

For a year? Possibly. Not guaranteed though.

Long term? Can't see an extension happening this offseason, though I grant  that too is possible (likely just a year if at all).

Trade or attempted trade definitely looks to be on the table and seems to be what most people are expecting.

It's hard to belive we are building a future with Hurney employed as the experienced NFL guy. He spent a ton on a HC that enamored him in one in-person interview. This all reaks of amateur hour meltdown. I'm still waiting till after the draft to see what this direction is but to date it's not impressive.

Even if we decide to go in another direction, Cam should be treated professionally and respectfully. Not another Smith incident that they appear to be steaming towards. Get your crap together before you step in front of a mic so it sounds cohesive and solid. The off the cuff crap is not helping. Fire Hurney and finally bring in someone with experience and knowledge to help these college people. Quit asking for patience and do something that earns it, see last sentance.

Or see the PSLs disapate. I know it's been talked about in our family.

How are we trying to tank again? What moves have we made to make you think we are tanking? Free agency and the draft has not even started, and if you think Olsen and some of the other vets we may be cutting is the key to competing, you are wrong. We may have the exact same record as last season but I don’t see it being much worse and the team was filled with vets everywhere and all that got us was 5 wins. It’s time to re build which has nothing to do with tanking.

Despite our disagreements, I can get behind this statement. Not sure why people think you can convince an entire team, coaching staff, etc. to essentially quit. He’s just stating the obvious that we are making the steps toward being successful and that takes time.

Hurney is only under contract through this season, if I recall correctly.

Mind you, if Tepper extended him, I would severely question the future of this franchise.

I get it but he is still here and you can't convince me that winning is important if the expeet in the room is 3-13.

His hanging on to, and praise of, Marty are the biggest reasons to question Tepper right now.

You'd like to think he couldn't be this blind or dim, but that's a question I'm not sure I want an answer to.
