Of course they are speculating. Good grief this forum is full of morons.  Thanks for pointing out what is obvious to cognitive humans

Oh I fully understand that the problem is we have a loud group of people in this fan base that are claiming the speculation as fact as seen above (not you) why this group still trouts around acting like these reporters know anymore then us makes zero sense yet they do and they play it as people just dislike the news not that the reporters are just bs’ing for clicks.

But if they reported what you want to hear, then it would be legitimate, right?

Reporters have access to information you don't.

Reporters get to talk to people that you can't.

Reporters know the ins and outs of things that you've never seen.

Are they always right? No, but they have way more insight and standing to make predictions and observations than you do. And frankly, the fact that you judge their credibility by whether or not they're saying something you like doesn't really say much for you.

The vast majority of your posts are just emotional rants about somebody saying something you didn't like and it pissing you off. Try posting something more mature and interesting than that and maybe you'll get better responses.

Till then...

So I don’t know what’s going on here but I read about half of it.

I agree about Cam though. If he’s healthy and good to go why in the hell do we trade him?

Because we suck.

I think that's the thing some of us aren't fully realizing.  This team SUCKS.  Since our 6-2 start in 2018 (Nov 4.), we are 6-18.  The last 2 seasons we have ended on long as hell losing streaks.  And what's happened since?  We've lost even more talent.

The defensive line is in shambles.  Poe is all but gone.  Even if we re-sign Addison, which we shouldn't, he'll be 33 years old at the start of the season.  McCoy ain't coming back.  Irvin ain't coming back.  Bradberry probably isn't coming back.  Same with Boston.  I mean who is our best defensive player right now?  Shaq Thompson?  Short is coming off a season ending injury, Reid is too inconsistent, and Burns has to not get nicked up.  This defense will be terrible.

The offense is easier to shore up, but it's still not good.  Samuel is a solid role player but we can't count on him as the #2.  Offensive line is bad.

I don't think trading Newton has as much to do with Cam as it does the state of this team.  Newton is on his last year.  Even if we assume Cam is gonna be healthy for 16 games, then what?  MAYBE we make the playoffs, but this team almost certainly wouldn't be good enough to win a Super Bowl.  And that is the end goal, right?

I love Cam and I don't want to lose him, but his window with this team has closed.  We're best off tanking for Trevor Lawrence, which is absolutely what we are doing, then delaying the inevitable.

No argument that the team in it's current state is awful.

People are tired of losing. I get that. Unfortunately, it's probably going to continue for at least a year or two longer, Cam or no Cam.

Sucks, but it's true.

But like...

What happens if Cam actually leaves and it turns out that she and the rest of the Panther writers were just reporting things they heard?

Is that still considered Bias against Cam?

At this point if Cam doesn’t leave then a lot of people have a lot of explaining to do

Exactly.

It sucks to hear, but getting rid of Cam Newton is simply the best thing to do.  Newton doesn't deserve to waste the last bit of his potential, if it's still there, on an underwhelming team.

It's gonna take time.  And who knows?  Maybe it doesn't work out.  Maybe Tepper really doesn't know what he's doing, or Rhule was a bad hire, or whatever.  But we need to give it a chance.  I think it's quite obvious that this team, from the hire of Rhule to everything that has been said by those in the front office, that this team is planning for a drastic rebuild.

And let's be honest.  A year from now, if we have the No. 1 overall pick and Trevor Lawrence is right there for the taking, who is going to be complaining?  He is likely going to be one of the greatest QB prospects of all-time.  It will be worth it.  We just gotta gut it out and hope we end up with the number one pick.

I hate to say that because I don't genuinely want to see my team suck... but being realistic here, it's for the best.  Talent-wise our team is straight garbage.

I disagree.

Go back to the Lance Briggs situation with the Bears some years back. After they slapped the franchise tag on him, it got extremely contentious between Briggs and the team. There was so much vitriol going back and forth that pretty much nobody believed Briggs would ever play another snap in Chicago.

Then suddenly something happened and he wound up signing a long term deal.

And that's the thing. Teams change their minds. Players change their minds. Things happen that alter the situation. Etc etc.

The word "fluid" has been used in this context before, and it's accurate. It's one of the things that makes sports reporting tricky.

That's just the nature of the business.

Not really.  Tepper has always maintained that that was an option.   "When Cam is healthy, then we'll talk"  has been his statement all along.   Now granted he hasn't been very committal beyond that which has generated a lot of speculation so I can see why fans are freaking out.   But either way there will be no crow to eat.

Slam Jourdan all you want but you’re no different. Your Bias just tilts (hard) in a different direction.

The difference is that I am NOT a journalist. Jourdan was ignoring an entire storyline. I'm not claiming bias anymore, just that she's running after clicks.

And of course I'm biased. I'm an unapologetic Cam Stan

Man, what a dense take, but after that ridiculously dumb "well, if they're right and I'm wrong, they're just lucky" post earlier, why am I surprised?

Sports, dude. Sports, where nobody cares if what's happening hurts your feelings. And again, nor should they.

Just quit quoting I realize you’re the only goof that is beating the drum this hard About inaccurate reporting and your doing so by slightly changing what I originally said.

ian rapport has been guessing since last season on the cam situation and has been wrong time and time again, starting with the cam was expecting to be back after the 49ers game and you’re the only poster trying to shield him from criticism

I really don’t understand why I’m even going back and forth with some loss fool who defended that Nolan piece on cam pre draft.....what a joke

If EVERYTHING went right, the Panthers could be a .500 or better team next year, but when was the lat time everything went right? 2015?

The odds are clearly stacked against them. This year is just a bridge to next year when the Panthers free up a LOT of cap room. Even then, having a bunch of new bodies on the team doesn't make for a cohesive unit.
