The local media here is pretty tame to say the least compared to larger markets. Personally I'd say they've been taking it easy on him all things considered.

How do you think this scenario would play out in NY for example?

This all has to do with Charlotte's disgusting inferiority complex. We should be losing, so thinks the rest of the NFL.

It’s funny we rag on posters with quotes like “this ain’t madden” but it’s ok when a professional sports writer does it in mla format.....

I can only based what direction we are leaning off the comments from the coach, tepper and cam, which leads me to believe he’ll be here for at least the 2020 season baring a “considerable nice haul” like stated by the Fo and those involved themselves. Whether it’s true or not the timetable is still March and that’s been the case it seems since his surgery.

It amazes.me how.many fans thinks it okay and good for a team to tank. The stupidity and the ignorance is just mind boggling.

We can name it something else if you like.

Let's try...

"Cam got hurt and can't get healthy, while our core grew old and injured, at the same time our best player retired, while we happened to employ a general manager who did this very same thing not even 10 years ago, all the while having our previous owner kicked out of the NFL, a new owner take the reigns who doesn't know what he's doing, while playing in a division that has two HOF'ers at QB for the other teams"

That seems lengthy, but maybe it will feel better than tank.

This will be my only and last post regarding the "situation" with Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers never had a franchise quarterback until they had Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers never had an adequate offensive coordinator overseeing Cam Newton's offense.

The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton did not handle Cam's injuries well at all.

The Carolina Panthers never invested in the offensive line to protect Cam Newton.

I've been a fan of the Carolina Panthers since before they fielded their first team. I've invested a lot of time and emotion over the years, and missed out on a lot of other good things I could have been experiencing in my own life because of it.

IF Cam Newton is healthy and the Carolina Panthers trade him, my time as a fan of the Carolina Panthers, and football in general will come to an end. I'll be 100% done.

for once this is sound logic that I can understand.. Not saying I would do the same but there is no untruths in anything you said.

We made it through Steve Smith getting cut unceremoniously, it’ll be tough but if that’s cam faith we’ll make it to

It’s a bit different for me with Cam. Being the first legit franchise QB. Him bringing confidence to the team and being the person he is. He’s been a consummate teammate and pro. For all the sht he’s been through with Rivera, the media and the bigots, he deserves another go to maximize his potential.

I think you're missing the point. The Panthers have the greatest doctors money can buy... There isn't going to be some maybe he will, maybe he won't. The doctors will say if the shoulder and the foot are going to hold up... To be honest, I think Cam is playing ring around with medical issues, and the team is keeping it under the bus. Nobody can force Cam to get surgery, and it seems to always be the last option and last second decision. If Cam learned from his mistakes and quit trying to rehab things that are broken and need fixed, he would've been back in the range of GB or NO last year, and had all of December to prove his worth for another contract. A wild card berth and a win or two in the playoffs might've earned him another contract.

Didn’t he see a league leading specialist that told him he didn’t need surgery for the lisfranc at first?

I won’t deny Cam takes some blame. But I entirely blame Rivera for trotting Cam out there weeks 1-2. It was obvious Cam was a shell of himself.

You can't keep him forever, and unfortunately for him the circumstances that present themselves with the new owner will most likely result in Cam departing sooner than we expected.

Tanking isn't a bad strategic move for the future at all. especially in the NFL where you are sloted in the draft according to your win loss record. If your going to field a team that isnt likely to make the playoff and could net you say  the next payton manning or von miller, zion williams in nba terms, that sets the stage for a superstar.A big time jersey seller, long term success...why you cant follow that mindset I dont understand.. Like a few moral victories vs a team that are resting their starters helps win you a championship or put butts in seats is beyond me.

So your basically a Cam Newton fan and not a Carolina Panther Fan. Gotcha
