So if Tepper is this noncommittal and bullish for the sake of being so when it is CMC's turn for a contract extension, will the same posters that see no issue whatsoever with this feel the same?

It's a legitimate question. Mods can roll in here and toss out warnings for race baiting all they want.

Which part is legitimate?

Seems like a good idea to switch your allegiances from being a fan of a mismanaged franchise, to a dumpster fire of a franchise.

You keep bringing up treating people the right way, have you ever worked in corporate America?  Been fired for absolutely no reason?

This is normal talk around NFL circles, it's just a little different when it concerns a QB, but this isn't something that's unheard of in the least.

I'm leveraging my fandom. Poker style. I'm not going to fold just because a guy thinks he has it in the bag.

May not be worth much but it's their bluff to call.

P.s. I'm not the only one who feels this way.

The Hornets are a dumpster fire because at the end of the day it is still the rebranded Bobcats. You don't pull a full 180 from that much sheer mismanagement in only a few years in a league with a shrinking talent pool. They seem to be heading in a positive direction at the moment at least though.

I hate to be rude, but some of ya'll really show your asses when you try to talk NBA.

They don't care about winning the hand, they already own the casino.

When have the hornets, bobcats, or hornets been a well run organization?

The point, is both of the Charlotte professional teams are not well managed, and as far as I can remember, rarely have been....yet here they are, making money, like always.

The early Hornets teams were fantastic and fun to watch to say the least. But that was in a golden age, 90's NBA basketball spoiled us.

Tepper doesn't have to acknowledge the idiot media saying the Panthers will trade Cam. Realize that. The media can create as much as a fire as they want .. Tepper doesn't have to come in with water and douse the fake flames the media has created.

Tepper's latest interview? It was 95% not about Cam .. then the media had to get in their questions about Cam, essentially asking Tepper, if Cam was LYING about what he had said, about absolutely staying .. Have some class media, asking fuging Tepper if Cam is telling the truth. Tepper should have told them to go to hell.

The NFL does. The Charlotte market shouldn't demand less. Walk back our franchise ten years just for kicks.

You can watch that. They now have a lot to prove and they will inevitably lose support.

Hornets deserve support. Have you been to a Hornets game? Win or lose its a great time. Much better than spending $500 for JV football.

This will be my only and last post regarding the "situation" with Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers never had a franchise quarterback until they had Cam Newton.

The Carolina Panthers never had an adequate offensive coordinator overseeing Cam Newton's offense.

The Carolina Panthers and Cam Newton did not handle Cam's injuries well at all.

The Carolina Panthers never invested in the offensive line to protect Cam Newton.

I've been a fan of the Carolina Panthers since before they fielded their first team. I've invested a lot of time and emotion over the years, and missed out on a lot of other good things I could have been experiencing in my own life because of it.

IF Cam Newton is healthy and the Carolina Panthers trade him, my time as a fan of the Carolina Panthers, and football in general will come to an end. I'll be 100% done.

I'll still keep my fan card but my investment in the team will be pretty gutted. I won't tune in every Sunday. At least for a while. I'll come back around eventually, but like you say if Cam's healthy and they trade him it's just not excusable. And to be honest it tells me that Tepper buys into a lot of false narratives surrounding Cam and media driven BS. He seems to care a lot about the idea of a  team  rather than utilizing the gems he's got.

I mean, they won 2 total playoff series in the 90's, but at least they did have more winning seasons than losing.

That said, I don't feel that either team have been well run in their entire history....mediocre at times maybe, but not well run.

The local media here is pretty tame to say the least compared to larger markets. Personally I'd say they've been taking it easy on him all things considered.

How do you think this scenario would play out in NY for example?

No market should put up with incompetence and mismanagement....yet they do, and will continue to do so.
