They are clearly opinion pieces. This is evident from words like  "appears", "could" ,"should", "expected" , and "likely". Readers just don't actually read and pay attention to what's being said. This isn't reporting it's editorial. Reporting refers to events that happen. People just need to know which is which and understand the intentional differences between the two.

Does it occur to anyone that not every single post he makes is necessarily about his status with the Panthers?

I'd add that the notion that sports articles contain speculation is worthy of some kind of indictment on journalism is stupid.

It's just sports.
