Personally don't respect him any more than I respect my coworkers. He's a man just like me. But I absolutely abhor the way he's been drug through the mud, particularly by the media. But it may be even more disconcerning getting it from Panthers fans. 

I see your points--the media has not been kind to Cam--I thought the criticism was people here who want to see a change--based on his health.  I am not seeing the CEO comparison; I see him as the brand-the face of the franchise.  He is our first marketable superstar. 

There are so many different perspectives. 

If the CEO/front office is trying to convince Cam to play along or even lie until they can trade him,  then they should be ashamed.  Never ask someone to sacrifice their ethics to gain leverage.  

I do not see why fans should praise Cam more than they have--their respect will come during the next 2 seasons, when losing is a given.

Sorry, but saying his hair looks like a SC Palmetto tree is funny. And that's coming from a big Cam fan and someone who actually likes his current hair (unlike LOTS of people).

Ha--based on what I have been able to glean from your posts, I strongly suggest that you avoid explaining how others think until you can do a better job of explaining your own processes.

I realize that it must be "simple" for some of you to comprehend the complexities of this situation.  I should not have to defend my reasons for wanting a new direction than we are heading in now.  He has been here 9 seasons and we had 3 winning seasons.  And he is now injured--and 31.  Duh.

So, Tepper has made no mistakes with the handling of the Cam Newton issue, nor has he made any mistakes since he took ownership of the team?  Is that what I'm hearing?

There has been things I don't agree with. 

But as a fan, it doesn't mean jack. You won't find any owner or gm that does things you way. Just as I won't find one that does it.my way. 

Just because I disagree with things, doesn't make what he's done wrong. Seriously. 

Most is predictable though, as business decisions are not based on emotion.  So very few of them are acceptable by fans. 

As far as Cam Newton is concerned,  he still has a lot to prove. To this franchise,  or any other that takes him on.  He has failed to see his potential.  Technically he still has time to reach it, but injuries have left a lot of doubt whether he can or not. Tepper has every right to demand that Cam be healthy before committing further at a time where the franchise is clearly entering a new chapter in it's journey/life.  As an owner, I'd be saying the same damn thing, and I wouldn't care what the fans think, because it's not their baby, no matter HOW they feel about it. Want it different,  buy your own team.
