You just described a situation in which NO ONE has control over. 

While you and others feel like Teppee doesn't know what he is doing (namely because you don't agree with him and what he's doing),  he is in fact, doing exactly what he feels is best for the franchise.  

I could see you side if he had done this from the first day of owning the team. 

He hasn't.  He took time to learn, and make a decision that isn't just for the short term, but for the long term. 

But yes, he doesn't know what he's doing. fug the stupidity that falls out of your mouth.

Assuming they do not have a plan that unfolds a brilliant strategy at the end-----but I agree right now--sophomoric.  I take this to mean (possibly) that Cam's presser was a reaction to what he was told in that meeting---maybe they asked him to do this or that to play along to keep the heat off--and he responded by going to the media to tell them how he is staying--putting them in an awkward position to have to answer questions.  That may be a reach, but it is not too far fetched if you apply this quote to what we know to have happened.

Heck, Anthony Davis didn't even stay in NO, nor will Zion. Nobody is going to want to play for teams that aren't serious. We don't want the #1 pick just to end up sucking anyways and not having an at least mediocre chance of winning.

Its a bit risker in the NBA because of the lottery but there is no lottery in the NFL so you get what you suck as period. Those guys didnt stick around but having those guys for 4-5 years is better than not having them and even anthony davis being traded netted them a haul. look what one tanked player neted them, the Pelicans have agreed to a deal to trade Anthony Davis to the Lakers for Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart, and three first-round picks – including the No. 4 overall in 2019 Draft, league sources tell ESPN. Are you seriously telling me that wasn't worth it?

Happened with the dolphins last season, and If tepper is a man of analytics whos to say it wont happen here, first time owner new face we dont know what he might do, and with all the losses of luke olsen and so on If he moves Cam thats exactly what it looks like.

What upsets me is that the likes of Jake Delhomme has been treated with more dignity  respect than Cam Newton. Some of us are being accused of not respecting Cam because we see this team getting good again in 2-3 years--when, in our estimation, Cam will be 33 or 34 and probably done---not the time to go QB shopping.

 Over the past 16 months or so, the fan base paid Cam about $30m. Do you know how many games he has won since Nov 5, 2018--the time frame referenced?  ZERO. Cam is responsible (in large part) for 3 winning seasons since his arrival.  His health is perhaps/probably responsible for 2 losing seasons--and they are more recent.   I will say that most of the posts I have read are not disrespecting Cam's play, they are simply suggesting that the team move on--based on speculations based on the future.  Some see reason to respect him more than other players; some see reason to treat him no differently than the rest.  It's business.  Cam was a valued employee.

Mostly fair points, but here's where I disagree. He's not just an employee. If you have to put it in business terms, you'd call him the CEO/CFO. The heartbeat of the team. The team goes as the QB goes. Very rarely can a team be successful without stand out play from the QB position. 

Personally don't respect him any more than I respect my coworkers. He's a man just like me. But I absolutely abhor the way he's been drug through the mud, particularly by the media. But it may be even more disconcerning getting it from Panthers fans.

MHS, why do you insist on taking this bitter angle, and looking in Newton's pockets?

We have been paying and investing precious draft picks in a number of coveted players on this team. We had Luke Kuechly on a 61 million dollar contract and we are now paying him to retire. How many games did we win with him since that extension? Why aren't you making it your focus to complain about that waste if you're so concerned about how much players are making? If you don't have a reasonable response for this double standard I am losing all respect for you.

That is the angle of people not in favor of keeping cam around. the look for a logical reason to say I dont Like him and want someone else. simple.
