CMC Trade Talk (Might as well get it out there)

If you look at this from a receiving perspective, only Austin Ekeler was even remotely close to CMC this past season.  His production is something most teams get out of 2-3 players.  I think you have to at the least see what type of product Rhule and Brady put out there.  People thought Miami was going to be one of the worst teams in NFL history last season and they ended up beating a Patriots team that needed to win by the end of the year.  They really just had Devante Parker and nothing else.

If you wanna go this route, it should be understood as a purely theoretical discussion.

In reality there is zero indication, or even speculation for that matter, that the Panthers have given a single thought in this direction.

There has, however, been discussion of a possible extension.

Honestly only the media has speculated on Cam one way or the other.

Well if you want to go this route ..

In reality, there is zero indication from the Panthers they want to part ways with Cam Newton

MVP on a 5 win team lol

I mean, he was in constant and consistent top-3 discussion for NFL MVP by virtually every news outlet up until the later weeks.  In retrospect, easy thing to laugh at but the reality was he was being discussed by a plurality of non-Panthers folk.  And we'd likely be selecting Burrow in two months if he wasn't there for the 5 part.  Titans and Jags games at the least were won bc of CMC.

maybe the new coaches will do a better job but i don't think throwing the ball to a running back 10 times a game is really helping a quarterback develop. good offensive linemen would be better for a rookie quarterback. trade mccaffrey for picks and go all in on the line.

it's not about throwing the ball to a running back. it's about giving opposing defenses something to focus on other than the qb.

mccaffery is a threat even with a craptastic oline...and he's still on his rookie contract, so he's not a major cap factor when it comes to signing linemen.

even if he has a subpar season, his presence alone will help take pressure off whoever is under center.
