Running backs take a lot more hits than 10 a game. They're usually making hard contact even when they don't carry the ball.

There’s like one dude beating the drum consistently in each thread for cam being back, there’s 3-5 posters repeating the same message in every thread. 
 

and to say he will never is asinine, 2018 he was on pace to end the season better than 2015. Ive also said we don’t need mvp cam, just like chiefs didn’t need mvp Mahomes and ravens didn’t need mvp Lamar. We need a team with a set identity and players that show up in big games, a coaching staff that mirrors that also

Here are some facts too: 

  Did you know that Super Bowl you all mention to cite Cam's greatness-The defense had a +20 turnover margin.  That season, the next highest NFL team was +9.  It was a freak year--for the DEFENSE.  A +20 turnover margin is like getting a free possession every game--and 2 free possessions for 4 games.  The defense/special teams scored 5 TDs (30 points) that season.  That helped them lead the league in scoring. In addition, The 2015 Panthers ranked 11th in overall offense (366.9 YPG), first in scoring (31.3 PPG), sixth in overall defense (322.9 YPG), and sixth in points allowed (19.1 PPG).

Cam's passing percentage that year?  59.8%.

Cam was awesome that year--but all teams, all QBs have weak coaches and soft spots on the roster.  The reason Cam was awesome, if I could point to one thing--was the deep ball.  He has not had it for some time.

He had to throw shorter passes because he lost the long ball.  RBs are in better position to take a hit.  When a QB gets hit, it is often when they are upright with an arm over their heads.  Their feet are preparing to pass, not be hit.  Cam got figured out--when the defenses realized he had no arm left (for whatever reason), they feasted.

and that year was averaged into his career percentage.

So is it completion percentage or deep ball efficiency? Can't have it both ways. Yes, his arm was shot in 2018. Particularly after that Watts boy almost knocked it off. Agreed when they figured out Cam was actually injured, they changed the way they played him. Not sure why our coaches didn't realize it too. 

RBs take hits and contact on a much different level though. You aren't gonna convince me differently. When you're asked to lower your head and ram into 1000+ pounds of men multiple times a game (and they usually only weigh around 200 pounds), that ish is different from anything Cam does. Cam's entire career hits are probably equivalent to 2-3 seasons of a starting running back.

Cam will never be an effective pocket passer because he's always had shotty throwing mechanics. No one can deny that. He got away with it because of arm strength and running. Now that both of those skills have diminished he wont be able to hide his average passing skills. Thank you for your service but its time to move on.

Stating one statistic while leaving out every other variable is just cherry picking. CMC has a losing record as a starter so he needs to be replaced too, right?

You had me until you had to throw those last couple sentences in. If only the team surrounded Cam with talent to succeed like every other franchise does with their Qbs. I honestly dont know a franchise that was worse than Carolina at doing that. I do believe Cam is gone but not for the reasons you listed at the end of your statement.

The man has 182 PASSING TDs and 108 INTs. The days of Cam getting 10 rushing TDs a game  a season are gone. Thats not hating on Cam those statements are fact and his rushing forecast is based on injury history, age and historical projections.
