Cam has been injured. Cam is older. Cam is on a vegan diet in which he has lost alot of muscle mass and probably lost strength. I love Cam but it's just hard for me to believe that he will come back better than ever. I hope I'm wrong....

Yada, Yada, Yada .. You're wrong

Don't bet against Cam Newton .. a CAM NEWTON expected to be healthy at that .. come on, people

Like I said 2015 was 5 years ago. We all will know in about a month or so.

There is a clear correlation between how much a QB is lifting vs. how pretty their stats are.

QB's like Mahomes and Brady, contrary to popular belief, have not done anywhere close to the heavy lifting Cam has ..

Mahomes, Brady, delegate the work to Hall of Fame skill position players (Gronkowski, Tyreek Hill) while Cam has never had anybody else on offense to help carry the load. It has been all Cam.

In order for a 60 yard TD pass to happen, you need a WR capable of producing a 60 yard TD .. Cam's never been the reason our pass game has been held back, it has been the style of the Panthers and Rivera + trash WR's

We now want to win on offense and that will completely change the game for Cam. We will finally surround him with weapons and protection, not just try to get by on offense.

completion percentage is such a garbage stat

lo and behold the top three career completion percentages of all-time

1 Drew Brees 67.6% 2001-2019
2 Kirk Cousins 66.9% 2012-2019
3 Chad Pennington 66.0% 2000-2010

It won’t do any good. Cam discussions are every bit  as polarizing as politics

as the old saying goes ‘never let facts get in the way of a good story’.

i’m a big fan of his for many reasons.  If he stays or goes is not in my hands.

Cam had a great year---I would love to have the 26-year old, healthy Cam Newton back.  His playing style--lowering his shoulder, leaping over the defense, diving for the extra yard, and holding onto the ball as long as he could before getting hammered--that was the Cam that won the MVP.  Throw in a "perfect storm" of a season that had a ball hawking defense (+20 turnover ratio), one that scored 5 TDs, and Cam plays with the lead.  That is so important.  Cam is not a great "come from behind" QB.   He was amazing at 26, and now he is paying for it.  I do not know how his career will turn out, but I know that his body has taken a brutal beating.  This ain't Madden---we cannot hit "reset".

Again you and other posters are acting like it was a fluke.

cam is not a great come from behind qb? Where are you getting this from? It’s been debunk numerous times Cam’s 4th comebacks or comebacks in general. Rivera’s coaching style was a main reason we didn’t see more from cam

and again I’ve said numerous times we don’t need mvp cam, 2018 cam is just fine before the injury. The last 7 mvps didn’t even win the Super Bowl.

I'm not going to mince words here, this is a very ignorant and tired trope used to diminish black QB's that the league has been trying to shed for years.

I am disappointed but not surprised to see MHS agreeing with this from someone like ickmule.

Your saying that same stuff about anyone that has anything to say about Cam that you don’t agree with, that’s what’s tiring.
You’ve been doing it forever and it’s old.

2013, 2018 were above average, 2017 was average.

all the other years are slightly below.

that’s just simply passing stats, throw in the rushing and it’s a wrap

In 2013 he passing stats were

24 TDs

13 INTs

61.7 % completion rate

3379 yds

He finished 15th in passing rating.

On what planet is that a good year?

In 2018 his stats were almost identical. Same Tds , same INTs 100 difference in yards. The only real difference was his completion rate was a career high 67 % ..which is good.

Cam will never put up the rushing numbers he did in the past. Name ONE player that performed at a high level 5 years ago that is still doing it outside of a kicker? And he was never an elite passer consistently.

Are you guys actually going to make me stick up for braided belts wearing Matt Ryan?

Last I checked both Ryan and Newton have been named MVP of the entire league.

I also distinctly recall a two win Falcons team stepping on the Panthers necks in Carolina and Atlanta in 2019 without our franchise quarterback.

How average did Matt Ryan look embarrassing our secondary while Kyle Allen lobbed interceptions to defensive linemen?

Whatever happens, we need a real QB in Carolina.

Just based on passing stats Cam is not in the same league as Ryan. PERIOD!
