The local media should be ashamed of themselves

Well of course except when she tried really hard to get famous by making Cam out to be Harvey Weinstein and her skeletons came out.

What he said was obviously inappropriate. No need to exaggerate the fug out of it for a slap on the back from some neanderthals.

The observer has always been a classless newspaper especially when it comes to Cam Newton so I'm not surprised. Seems like posters like @mrcompletely11 would fit right in over there. Could be a future job for you bro. You can get paid to hate on Cam what could be better?

And for the record I unfortunately believe the writing is on the wall. Cam will be gone this offseason even though it is A HUGE MISTAKE. Glad Tepper likes to blow so much money into a sinking ship and expect it to miraculously resurface just because hes opening his wallet. Ain't gonna happen. I dont care how much money you have it will never win a Championship for your city. We had our Franchise Qb, the most integral part of any NFL team, of the next 4-5+ years and they are kicking him out the door before even seeing what he can do with legit offensive coaching and talent surrounding him. Cam spent over half his career with old injury prone Rbs, TERRIBLE Olines, Brandon Lafell and offensive lineman playing wr (Kelvin). Trash developmental players (Armanti Edwards) and some of the most predictable coaching in NFL history. And Cam was able to overcome most of that garbage for awhile but not enough to be consistent year in and year out. And when he finally breaks down and needed a rest the team and fan base turned on him. It really is a sad, sad joke. Carolina did not deserve Cam Newton and they wasted yet another HOF talent.

With all that said it's a great time to be a Panthers fan and I couldnt be more excited for this teams future!!!!!

/sarcasm

Newton tried to be funny.  He wasn’t.  It was awkward and cringeworthy. He has had a few of those during his time here   The outrage, however,  was a bit over done

It is a shame we don’t hold the President of the US, leader of the free world,  to as high a standard as we do a pro football player

Charlotte Observer: Cam Newton and the Panthers’ inevitable breakup has never been more clear. The end.

Absolutely pathetic how the media in this town is openly fixated on the idea of the franchise’s greatest QB leaving and has been for the better part of a year now.

Fans who are also ready to move on from Cam will tell you they’re just being realists, but the fact is this camp has been going out of their way to push him out long before it was a thought on Teppers mind. It was “inevitable” that Cam would follow Luke into retirement. “Trading him makes the most sense” they said when he went on IR. The same local press tried to hand a complete JAG of a QB the keys to the city as soon as he brought just a slice of the success here that Cam did. Before Kyle it was Taylor, and Grier, etcetera ad nauseam. Now every week I have to read some local thinkpiece about how both parties should just split for their own good. Not a whole lot of suggestions he should stay. Just hammering home the idea that he’s already out the door.

The sad thing is at this point even if he gets healthy we’ve made it hard for him to want to stay. I only hope now that if he does and wants to stick around, he realizes that the media doesn’t represent the fans.

You should really try and educate yourself on how the media works.

Being all neutral and Cam staying because he’s getting healthy will not turn heads. Publishing idea like those would be the opposite of how the media works.

As far as other people ex players and such, we’re all allowed an opinion and each side has valid points.

I understand a lot of cam fanboys are just blown away by all this, welcome to NFL football. My advice, just watch and enjoy Cam and don’t follow the media expecting them to share your viewpoints and narratives and when they don’t get butthurt actually take it seriously.

Fact is the media has been speaking Cam’s departure into existence and has been doing so far beyond what constituent as neutral reporting. As a fan of this team who thinks we’re at our best with him at the helm it’s underhanded BS that only hurts our leverage in the situation.

If you are a Cam fan, you may want him to move on somewhere, where there is a chance to compete for a championship in the next 2-3 years. Currently, that is not us, I think we are 3 years out from competing for a title again.

Welcome to NFL football? How many other teams gave up on their franchise qb at 30 years old coming off injury? Rodgers? Roethlisberger? Brady? Brees? Stafford? Wentz? All of these guys have had significant/multiple injuries yet their teams have stuck by their side. Think the Colts are regretting letting Peyton go when they did? Look at the deals qbs like Foles and Fitzpatrick are STILL getting. Qb is the hardest position to fill and we're shoving a 30 year old transcendent talent like Cam Newton out of the door. It's too early to give up on Cam and it will be a mistake when they release/trade him this offseason.
