Should we be trying to extend Moton?

Yes. 25 year old proven starting OT. We've struggled mightily at OT for the majority of the last decade. We're currently struggling mightily at LT. We don't need to be struggling mightily at both... again.

Come on, isn't football way more exciting when your QB has more opportunities to throw a TD pass off his back foot while getting absolutely drilled at the last second by a blitzing defensemen? I mean sure he ends up on IR before the end of the year, but those 3 or 4 games of the year have some magical moments before you lose brutally.

His second year was good/great but this year was disappointing. His first year he played about 60 snaps.

So it depends on how much money he wants. Because he could end up being just average/decent. But maybe that's enough.

Looking from his perspective, why sign now when he could end up being underpaid. There seems to be alot of old quality tackles around the league. Some might retire this year, some maybe next. So the market could end up being in his favor.

If we extend him now, I dont think he will be as cheap as some hope.

Absolutely. Moton is the best OL on the team. It’s funny that this is even a question. Panthers fans are constantly crying about going OT at pick 7 to fix the OL and here we are trying to figure if we should extend Moton.

Still need to get OT...

Along with all the others, Moton played poorly last season. Honestly the best overall OLman last was GVR, the same guy who was the weak-link in past years. I echo others, while the price is low go for it!

I hope the new OL coach is a true warlock, cause this unit needs serious help.

Too bad we paid Turner instead. Well and I guess we kinda paid Kalil when we could’ve used that on Norwell. Gano instead as well. And KK....and extended Olsen. And shaq is making far too much...man it’s like I’m starting to see why the Panthers aren’t competitive. Really though, one of the worst teams in the league when it comes to contracts. Always seems we get stuck with the wrong guys when there are other choices.

I’m guessing we’ll treat him as our franchise RT and pay him but I saw him get beat plenty last season.

Yes he did cause Turner didn't play up to his normal level of play.  He was not an All Pro this year unless they lowered the standards of what an All Pro is

OK, so it seems that most agree we should be sitting down with him to extend him, especially before he can really start eyeing the big bucks after this coming season.

Do you think that Marty feels the same way?

Show him some cash now, front load the hell out of the deal and lets take care of that spot on the line for the next 3/4 years.

I'll be shocked if we do it though.
