Should we be trying to extend Moton?

Just wondering your thoughts.  Solid player, stays healthy, plug and play, and with a little more help on the O Line, maybe a top flight R Tackle?

IMO, we should be sitting down with him now, before he gets to the last year of his deal.

Just curious what everyone else thinks?

Absolutely. Moton is the best OL on the team. It’s funny that this is even a question. Panthers fans are constantly crying about going OT at pick 7 to fix the OL and here we are trying to figure if we should extend Moton.

Moton is set to be criminally underpaid for the upcoming season. Lock him in now, throw decent bucks his way and give him a bonus for work done well. If paid decently and treated well, he's the kind of guy that could have a long, steady and sturdy career here.

He's one of those foundation blocks that are so vitally important in a rebuild.

I’m guessing we’ll treat him as our franchise RT and pay him but I saw him get beat plenty last season.

To be fair he didn't have much help inside. Turner was getting beat like a drum last year when he wasn't injured.

Starting quality OT's do not grow on trees, whether it's RT or LT.  He may never play in a Pro Bowl, but if he brings competent play to the RT position for the next 4-5 years, it suddenly becomes that position that you just don't have to think about.  We could use a few of those.
