they've got a pretty good roster.  i think it would be a win for cam.  i think he'd look better in silver and black but sd would be a good landing spot.  not sure about chicago.

you don't care but you want to be here to laugh in their faces?    ok.    sounds like you care.   i'm gonna guess you're relieving stress from some other area of your life.   if that's so i hope whatever it is gets better or you.   if not, letting go of cam can be a win/win.  keeping him could be a win.   we'll see.

I'm getting paid damn good money right now to post here. My personal life is just fine and for the record you dont know me. You dont know the first thing about me. Judging someone's personal life on an online football message board has to be one of the weakest things you can do, but we see it all the time dont we? Someone doesn't agree with you? Insult them. You don't like what someone says? Bring up their personal life. Just makes you look really weak, but hey bud to each their own no hard feelings

most butt hurt award is gonna go to either you or atlcam dude if we part ways with cam.  this post may put you in the lead.

Dude you were just whining in the tinderbox a few days ago about people being mean to you (bafflingly in a thread about the U.S. bombing women and children with drones) yet here you are dishing it right back out. So which is it? Are you the victim, or are you the same guy that's been posting this weird toxic anti-Newton crap?

I think you can make tough business decisions and still treat people with dignity and respect, especially given what they’ve meant to the team and this fan base. Tepper is losing me with his tone and lack of respect he is showing Cam. He could at least praise him for what he’s done in the past both on and off the field.

This

add to it, yanking our seats for loyal PSL owner for a soccer franchise and not telling them about it until he had to as the PSL invoices are being mailed

classless

Honestly, what the fug do people expect Tepper to say at this point?

"Hell yes, Cam will be back!"

"Hell no, we're gonna trade him, are you crazy?"

IMO Tepper is being pretty honest about the situation. He could just as easily say he's not commenting on personnel moves. As shitty as this situation is, it is what it is at this point.

The 2019 season was the season we were gonna find out if Cam could stay healthy, and we know how that ended.

The FO is going to wait until Cam gets a clean bill of health from their doctors. Simple as that.

For his part, Cam has made it clear he intends to return to Carolina, which is the most important part of this equation after his health.

There's nothing wrong with having that opinion. No one can truly see the future and the only thing ill say to you is the grass isnt always greener on the other side.

Cam is still under contract. Aside from the oline (which would be vastly improved with 2 draft picks or draft pick/FA) we have a solid offense with a young offensive mind in place. We all know what Cam can do when hes healthy with a bunch of scrubs. He has a chance to run a legit NFL offense. I think it's the silliest thing in the world to get rid of him before seeing what he can do in it

But here’s the thing. If you look at the team as a whole, we are going to be severely lacking in talent next year. Poe, butler, Luke, Olsen, Bradberry, are all likely gone. The only experienced DT  is 30 year old Short. We don’t have a ton of cap to fix these holes. This is not a team that is going to win. That means, Cam needs to continue to be super Cam at 31,32,33 while the rebuild happens.

By then he may be well past his super Cam days.

Let’s rip the bandaid and  try to get the QB of the next 15 years instead of suffering through the Cam farewell tour.

That's what too many Cam Homers don't want to see. Or can't see. 2015 was a LONG time ago. As is the start if his career. MVP Cam, Super Cam, etc. runs, dives, hurdles, and flies. Can he still do all of that?

Take that away and he's just a good QB. On par with many, many other QBs in the league. That will not get you into the Playoffs unless the rest of the team is elite. The rest of the team is not elite.

Starting a fresh, soon-to-be-elite, QB while you rebuild versus starting Cam while you rebuild will most likely net the same result. So why not get the QB who will still be here when the team is ready to go for it all? It's just too bad we're not in a Draft position to get that QB.

We could be next year. That’s what I think they are planning to do. Use this upcoming season to develop young talent (like in 2010), win 2-3 games and draft the next  QB.

Along with developing young talent, they also need to develop this inexperienced coaching staff. These guys are going to be chewed up next year. It’s not going to be a smooth transition. A lot of knee jerk posters are going to want Ron back.

We’ll get better, but we arent winning anything next year except a top draft slot.

2017 Cam dragged this franchise to the playoffs and should have beaten the Saints in New Orleans in the playoffs were not for a bunch of fuggery

2018 Cam was outpacing his MVP season until TJ Watt took his shoulder out

The whole "2015 was a looooong time ago" mindset is just lazy and disingenuous.

2018 Cam was a cmc check down machine. He also wasn’t able to throw a Hail Mary.

Cam wins when he runs. He’s too fragile to run anymore.

You really think he can do what he did in 2015 at 31-33?

The Cam farewell tour is not going to be fun. Let’s move on now.

Well, you kind of made my point.  Greg was given several opportunies to prove he could still play at an elite level after injury plagued seasons. To let go of Cam without truly knowing what he can do is stupid.  Cam does deserve a chance to show he still has it, we are not talking extensions. If you cant understand that maybe there are other things clouding your judgement.

Greg was brought back (when he probably shouldn't have been) because our old leadership believed in everybody getting a chance to go out on their own terms.

Now, per Jordan Gross, we're a rebuilding team that's not likely to keep players who aren't part of the five year plan.

Newton's not getting an extension right now. Whether he gets to play out his final year here is still up in the air. But either way, the notion that a team owes any player a year's pay for past services is just stupid.

You pay them now because you believe they can help you win now.

What that means on a team whose primary focus is building a future winner rather than a current winner is... complicated.
