I just dont think they axe Greg if Cam was coming back. There is a reason they got drunk together to say their goodbyes.

Or greg is for sure gone which is true and as long tenured teammates and friends they eont been the same team next year, so it could be just that. Camp's future is uncertain, Greg's is finalized. Anything between now and then unless Cam has soured on the panthers after these little jags is speculation. The only one with any real power to change that between now and then is cam. The team is waiting to see how he looks.

Cam could say oh yall dont believe in me I'm done here, or he could suck it up and see hoe he performs in March. Like tepper said he isnt a doctor, Marty isnt a doctor so the only one that knows how cam feels is cam.

Look I understand everyone has to see Cam when Healthy. Why would you say absolutely nothing positive though when this comes up. You know how the media is and how everyone speculates, especially when it comes to a superstar like Cam Newton who was a former MVP and the leader of the franchise. Take off the blue glasses and look at this from another perspective, if any other teams GM and Owner made comments like this it would seem like the QB would be on the way out. They can change this by saying anything positive about Cam and how they have all intentions of having him lead the franchise if healthy. It’s not hard to do:

example:

“Cam Newton is one of the most talented QBs in the league and if he’s healthy, he’s our QB... next question”

That’s a big difference from this:

“Listen, I’m not a doctor,” Tepper said, via Steve Reed of the Associated Press. “I’ve said it a million times. Is he healthy? He’s not a doctor. There’s a lot of different things that can happen, but first is, is he healthy? Tell me that and then we can talk.”

And add in rumors that they were at least thinking about shopping him, & anyone should be able to glean that they're not completely sold!

d newton trying to get tough with tepper was hilarious.   also there is a lot of butt hurt in this thread, like there was a lot of gloating when cam said he was coming back.  in a way i wish i had that level of attachment to players still.   i just don't.

At this point I hope they make the mistake of letting Cam go. It isnt very hard to see what way the organization is leaning. I hope we let him go, maybe get a few pennies on the dollar. I hope we suck so bad next season and we get to draft Lawrence #1 just like most of you cucks want to do, I hope he busts like most of the "hyped up pro ready" QBs do and i hope this franchise loses more games in the next decade than the Browns did from 2010-2020. All the while Cam turns the Chargers into a perennial playoff team for the next 6 years. And all we get to hear are the BS excuses that come pouring out of Teppers mouth. What a bittersweet time it will be

Because franchise QBs aren't exactly easy to find. Most teams flounder for years after parting with one.

He is 71-59.  The mighty Andy Dalton has 70 wins in pretty much the exact same time frame.  His career completion percentage is a cool 59%.  Cam is a good qb but lets not go overboard here.

people need to realize the context in which he said this.  its important.

it was right after David Newtons cuck ass re asked him the same question that david already answered. So, Tepper sounded a little xtra sharp in response.

Newton got his wish, a sound bite and a quote, in which turd sandwiches on the huddle will take out of context.

also, those saying its borderline annoying he's in front of the camera..  again prob didnt consider the context in which he was asked.  it looked like he was swarmed, and actually told the guys to go ask some chick and tried to direct them to her. but because they are cucks they drive in for that sound bite

context.    consider it.

Greg Olsen probably deserved better than to be unceremoniously released, but that's football.

Nobody "deserves" anything when it comes to football decisions. Believing somebody "deserves" to take up current cap space now because they contributed in prior years is Ron Rivera type "everybody deserves a happy ending" thinking. That's what gets you stupid contracts like what we gave Jake Delhomme in 2009.

Well, you kind of made my point.  Greg was given several opportunies to prove he could still play at an elite level after injury plagued seasons. To let go of Cam without truly knowing what he can do is stupid.  Cam does deserve a chance to show he still has it, we are not talking extensions. If you cant understand that maybe there are other things clouding your judgement.

"Deserve" has nothing to do in the NFL when you are set to make 20+mil and  you have been hurt for 3 years.  You guys are way too emotional about this
