That is exactly what he is saying...Go DTs!

Seriously, you need an OL and a D for most qbs to succeed.

OL: Keeps QB upright and gives the QB a run game.

D: Gives QB field position and keeps the team in games so that the QB is not having to play from behind--that is when the D comes at him.

Good WRs are a plus too.  However, if you put the QB into the mix before these pieces are in place, you are setting up your QB to fail.

The 1970 Steelers, when Tepper was a teenager, drafted Bradshaw and he was terrible during year 1.  Some of the worst qb numbers I have ever seen (38% completion rate, 24 interceptions, 6 TDs) and he is now wearing a yellow jacket.  In today's NFL, a young QB with those numbers would not have started year 2.   So it is not a matter of why you want a DT over a QB, it is a matter of timing.  And about the reason Panther fans love DTs---Jenkins/Buckner; Star/Short---Super Bowl years.

Damn you beat me to it. I was gonna make a crack about the 1870 Steelers  oline still suffering from their Civil War wounds, but you fixed it.

With hurney still in charge I don’t think  he drafts a LT in the first it would be admitting he made a mistake last year when he moved up to draft Little. Just like he’s not drafting a project Qb in later rounds because that would signal he made another mistake drafting Grier

Meh, Clausen didn’t stop Hurney from drafting Cam.

I am in the camp of hoping you’re wrong, scared to death you’re right.

That was after a season in which Clausen was so obviously horribad it was comical and Cam was a clear franchise quality prospect for the taking (when your detractors are stuck grasping at straws like questioning the sincerity of your smile, it’s obvious you’re pretty good)

I fear the difference this time is Little and/or Daily showed just enough of a glimmer to let Hurney justify sticking with them as the best options.

I agree about Hurney, but the premise that he made a mistake has not been established.  Little had to play under the absolute worst circumstances last year---any time I see a rookie miss camp at a position like that, I think he should be IR'd---playing him sets him up to fail.

People continue to not remember that we drafted Greg Little.

Who already has a bad concussion history. That ain't good. I say draft an OT & let him compete with Little. If he wins, hot dog! If not, no big deal. He'll groom & learn from coaches & vets. Become a starter in '21.

Moton has proven his worth @ RT, Trai's secured RG, Paradis should be given a 2nd chance @ C (still draft a C around 2nd-3rd round), sign a FA for LG.

A win-win situation.

it is when you are severely depleted at other important position

your cake will suck if you have more eggs than needed, but not enough flour or baking soda.

QB: Cam Newton

HB: CMC

WR1: DJ Moore

WR2: Samuel

WR: 3  1 YR FA

LT: Fix

LG: Fix free agent Money

C: Paradis looks better now we have a LT

RG: Trai

RT: Moton

TE: Ian Thomas

What position of needs are there? We sign Bradberry and McCoy or Butler, we have a roster for the defense. We can use the rest of the draft on Defense if we draft a cornerstone day one LT. The offense I listed with Cam healthy scores 30-40 a game. By god keep him out of the preseason games, I'd rather see him get every week he can and we lose the first game because of rust then that crap happen again.

Greg Little played well before his injury. It was his rookie season. Donte Jackson is still a good pick, people are overreacting with him, Josh Norman didn't come on until year 4. Brian burns looks to be the real deal. People forget Kawaan Short even exists. Good God trade the pick for Trent Williams IDC, fix this crap. We HAVEN'T drafted offensive lineman In the first in TEN+ YEARS!!!! We've drafted defensive lineman like 6 times. I'd rather watch us score 25-40 points and keep Cam safe then allow 15 while cam gets killed some more.

Lol no he didn't he was awful
