I love these "don't get emotional" responses. Sounds great. Let's get this firesale started proper then. While we are shopping Cam, what's CMC's value? Remember. Don't get emotional.

Lol. Yep, all us white folks would care far more about losing CMC than Cam, right? That’s what you are insinuating. Ignoring the racist accusations, the cost is way different and CMC is in his prime, Cam is not. CMC will turn 25 to 29 in years 2021 to 2025. Don’t get emotional but Cam’s had shoulder issues for 4 years now and just had a foot issue keep him out for a year. Basically the same injury that effectively ended Olsen’s career. Give me Lawrence or Fields, McCaffery, a 2nd round rookie and $75M in cap space from 2021 to 2025 over Cam, CMC for 2021 and a 3rd round comp in 2022 from 2021 to 2025. I’m assuming if we keep Cam at $35M we won’t extend CMC so we’ll get a comp pick for him after 2021.

Equating not signing Cam long term to a fire sale is a false equivalency. I’m just saying that winning a Super Bowl is what our goal should be and building around a lily white Lawrence or gasp Fields is a better way to do it that to try and get this talent devoid team plus Cam back in shape with a QB deal taking up 20-25% of the cap.

The only report is an unsubstantiated bleacher report with no specifics. Sports media has been speculating for months but they don't have sources.

I personally don’t think the team even knows. I think everyone’s trying to say upbeat things but it likely depends on a dance partner. If we don’t have one I don’t see us releasing Cam for nothing. I don’t think we have finalized our plans for build around Cam or build around a rookie.

Who didn't see this coming? It's unfortunate for Cam that he spent his career with the Panthers under Ron but hopefully a change of scenery will do him some good.

It's time to tank for Trevor. Don't worry about patching the O-line and just let Grier start for sixteen games, instant number one pick in the 2021 draft.

I like how Matt Miller is an idiot that shouldn't be trusted...until he says something about Cam.  Then since it lines up with a certain narrative people have been pushing, he is a great source.

What about our best writers?  Other teams beat writers?  National writers who cover the league?

There is too much smoke here.  You can only bury your head for so long.

If this ends up being true and not just speculation, I have recently mocked us trading back and fielding calls from teams moving up for Herbert considering the Chargers pass on him.  The Colts being a prime candidate.   Why would the Chargers draft Herbert if they just traded for Cam?  Hint: they wouldn't.

When did they report that we are getting rid of cam? And did they cite sources?

They tweeted it last week.  Jourdan said she thinks its 50% he is back and Person said 15%.  Other beat writers are not joining in with the speculation.  Now do you think that all of these reporters are just making things up or that they actually have some sources in the front office?

There are just too many people saying that the panthers want to move on from him for it not to be true.  I mean damn dude our own beat writers are pessimistic at best that he is back.  That is pretty telling.

Our own beat writers also didn’t have the smallest idea that we were gonna extend Shaq in December, that Lukes retirement was coming, or that Olsen was getting released with plans to play. I wouldn’t trust anything that isn’t coming from staffed Panther writers. The only reason Brady was leaked because the team let Voth spill the beans

Delhomme said in the Athletic today that he believes Newton’s future is very much up in the air right now. He doesn’t think anyone knows how it is going to play out.

He said this upcoming year feels a lot like 2010. They are cleaning house of anyone who doesn’t fit a 5 year plan.
