"WHO DAT" = all time dumbest cheer

The whole "WHO DAT" thing has got to be the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

The worst part is, in 1983 Saints fans stole it from the Bengals who started the "WHO DEY" cheer (also dumb) in 1981.

Saints = "WHO DAT"

Bengals = "WHO DEY"

Saints + Bengals = two of the biggest joke franchises in the history of the NFL... but at least the Bengals have made a SB appearance...

Saints original.

Its dated to the an 1800s minstrel show and was picked up in the '60s-70s by Southern University in Baton Rouge. It was taken up by the Saints and the Bengals at about the same time in '81 but as its a Louisiana born chant the Saints get the rights to it in my book.

'sides it just sounds like a coonass chant

and its a fugton better than:

Oh, nothin' could be finer

Than to be in Carolina For a Panther football game!

Stand and cheer for the Panthers

Stand and cheer for the team

The pride of both Carolinas

And city of the queen

Carolina!

Stand and cheer for the Panthers

In our grand ol' name

Nothin' could be finer Than to be in Carolina

For a Panther football game!

From the mountains To the Ocean

Carolina, Carolina best of 'em all!

From the endzone To the endzone

Carolina, Carolina carry the ball!

Oh, nothin' could be finer Than to be in Carolina

For a Panther football game!

Nothin' could be finer Than to be in Carolina

For a Carolina Panther football game!

Carolina!

Please tell me this song is not for real?

    • Main Event probably not on till 11ish. Like 10 fuging undercards lol
    • That's perfectly fine. I agree. Also to preface all this I want to be clear that I want him to succeed. That doesn't mean that there has to be any going out of my way to tell myself he did or didn't like this or that move when he worked with Fitterer though. The only people that know worked with them. And no one is going to talk anytime soon. All that matters is what Dan does in the upcoming draft. He needs to nail it. No pressure.
    • I'm not one to judge when I don't know. To me, until someone comes up with the play by play of each move Fitterer made I am going to withhold attaching his (Morgan's) judgement to Fitterer's decisions. Absent 100% confirmation that Morgan had the same evaluations, we only can even assume he agreed. Because the boss made the decision. We don't know if the agreement was enthusiastic, reluctant, whatever.  I am judging him on what he has done as GM. Still has a lot left to do before I would speak a judgement type of opinion on the quality of his work. Grade = Incomplete.
