Mahomes went #10. Rodgers went #24. Neither were drafted to play as rookies. I'd say the Chiefs and Packers are very happy with the picks they made in those respective drafts. Honestly, if we draft Herbert I think the plan will be to not play him as a rookie and let Bridgewater play the Alex Smith wet nurse role that he played for Mahomes during his rookie season.

While I don't disagree, I would also argue that Mahomes and Rodgers showed you why they were valued so high. They made so many plays when everything broke down in college that you expected them to at least be serviceable if an injury happened in year 1.

I just don't see it with Herbert. There is so much missing in his game.

The tackling is important to me and I feel like our next young CB1 has to offset Jackson’s weaknesses, which tackling is one. I feel like DJax already uses his gifted speed and anticipation too often and good QBs can take advantage of that. Not saying CJ is 100% a clone of Jackson, but two CBs that use speed and anticipation as their strengths scare me.

There’s a lot to like about CJ, just not my flavor at 7 overall.

For a 180 LB guy jackson at least isnt scared to tackle, I was impress with his wiliness...  hes just not good at it. I feel hes just like most of the young guys, hes still figuring out how to be a NFL pro.

The Simmons fan club.

I can see how someone would prefer Simmons, but to me the difference isn't so big I would complain about Brown.

Brown, Johnson, Brooks

or

Simmons, Johnson, Elliot

Either way I'm feeling pretty good about the draft

Probably easier to go all out when you know you’re not likely to have an impact. Like the kid who dives for every ball in the outfield knowing it looks good and he’s 10 feet away from possibly getting popped in the head.
