The harder I go for Brown, the more certain I am it's going to be Simmons.  Why? Hurney and I had a disconnect beginning with the 2009 draft.  Before then I was 100% on board with his first picks.  Since then, it's 0%.  Simmons it is.

The Gettleman  year's was hit or miss, FYI

If not a tackle then I want simmons badly at 7

Saints could be looking to trade up for Jordan Love.

If Tua and Herbert are both gone (Chargers/Dolphins) do you think we take calls from nervous teams trying to move up for Love?  Apparently he's on a tier all by himself, a bit distant form the next guys Fromm, Eason and Hurts.

I honestly don't know why or how so many people seem to be buying into this idea that Sean Payton is going to rely on Taysom Hill to be Drew Brees' successor at QB. In 423 snaps over the past two seasons, the guy has thrown 13 passed and people want to think he's Drew Brees' successor? Hilarious.

They let Bridgewater walk.  If I were a betting man, I think they are waiting until next year to draft a QB and either let Brees play out his lame duck year or let Hill be a bridge QB a season or two.  I agree though, Hill is not their next franchise QB.

As much as I wish they were, Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis are not dumb. They know Teddy Bridgewater isn't the long-term solution and they value Hill as a versatile gadget player. Everyone wants to talk about the Saints' record with Bridgewater while ignoring the reality that he was running a very pared down playbook and the offense overall was a shadow of itself while he was starting. Payton and Loomis slapped that 1st round tender offer on Hill with hopes that someone (*cough* Hurney *cough*) would do something really stupid and sign him away and he'd end up with that 1st rounder. They knew all along that the answer wasn't on the roster.

Not completely disagreeing, but pared down playbooks are commonly used when a backup has to take over for a starter midseason. Teddy didn’t have all offseason with the starters either. Of course the offense would be a shadow of itself without Brees.  He is a HOF QB who has been running the same offense for over a decade. Not sure how high they were on Teddy, but they couldn’t pay Brees and him starter money this year.

They wouldn't necessary have to. They could've structured his contract to backload it and keep his cap hit very manageable this coming season. Loomis has been playing cap gymnastics for years.

True, maybe Teddy wanted a chance to start.
